  1. I prefer this over the popcorn. I saw some paper mesh that is supposed to work like bubble wrap. I might look into that as well assuming it's not priced though the roof.
  2. Thanks' an idea.... I have boxes around that size that I use for other things, but they're just a hair to small for a slab & cushioning material.
  3. I was looking on Amazon for different types of boxes & packing material for ideas that will cost effectively & safely ship a slabbed comic....
  4. Yes, no real difference of opinion on this one....
  5. Thanks. As I look at this, looking at the center crease vs where the staples are, I wonder if this is something that happened in printing or real spine roll....
  6. Nope, no more questions. Thanks! That answers it. I'll continue the strategy of using the weight of old tires for pressing....
  7. Grading on modern books has been pretty much in the window for me. Looking adding a clean press pushes that 20 day timeline out to 195 days, is that correct?
  8. Yikes.... I get the disappointment. Legal action? They clearly tell us that is a real inherent risk of having a book regraded. I have visions of "The Simpsons' Comic Book Guy in my head....
  9. That was kind of my thoughts too.... And no, it's not really something I think I would pay for.
  10. I thought the same thing regarding slabbing. Truth is, I got from a discount bin for nothing. Except for this, in great shape & only to complete the set (ended up using another one) so it or the set doesn't really command that much. I think I got $25 bucks for the 4 issue story. I did see that someone got $65 bucks for 9.8 slab on Ebay....
  11. I would think this would not impact value from a grade standpoint, but I would imagine it might from a standpoint of desirability....
  12. I'd be ecstatic as I'm happy with much less than that.... Congrats.
  13. I was thinking 7 top end, but a clean & press would help a comic like this.... I think?
  14. Thanks. I doubt I'll submit this. Looking for opinions on grade so as to understand value, decide to keep or not.... Also to get a better understanding what others see when assessing grade. Really appreciate the feedback.
  15. Thanks. Yes, good paper and cover stock, but they were worked hard in those days....
  16. The only issues I see are the corners and binding edge.... Not sure what that does to a grade.... 7.0 - 7.5?
  17. Thanks. May sell as is.... I have so many on deck to press & grade, I need to make hard choices on what gets an extra look. We'll see....
  18. Thanks. I was thinking that. As a kid, I didn't really carefully check condition.... I need Daredevil xxx. What's the best looking book I can afford without buying other comics for a year.... Honestly, probably didn't seriously understand condition impacting value to the extent it does till I joined here.
