Does anybody have the "Slap A Jap Cover" comic?
I have a lot of "Boot to the head" covers.

Those nazi's have some horrible aim!

Does anyone have a Speed Comics #24 or #32 pedigree copy? I'm missing #24......
-
I just got this in. Boy Comics #33 Crippen ( D Copy)
Great choice!

Didja ever notice how in virtually EVERY other thread, at some point, somebody gets POed at somebody or other and there're all kinds of accusations thrown and somebody's integrity is questioned and somebody goes out of their way to needle somebody in an almost sociopathic way and on and on and on?
and in the WAR COMICS thread (no less), there hasn't been a shred of uncivil discourse. . .EVER.
War comics collectors are de shît.
I should just stay here and ignore most of the rest of the board. I find myself getting worked up over nothing sometimes.
I think I may follow your lead. Went to the Water Cooler more often than I had done in the past and I saw people defending terrorists and child molesters.

Change it to.....
(first word bubble) "Kubert, you magnificent "
(second word bubble) I read your comics!!!
patton, one of my favorite movies of all time. Finished reading "Patton, a soldiers life"

I have to agree that some of the threads seem to be over-priced.
I usually just move on and don't even acknowledge them. Unfortunately though there are many of us that will "cheer on" the book for sale or talk about how "if they had money"
I don't so much have a problem with that but definitely the first thing I do when checking sales threads is have GPA open as well. When I see a book that has a sale sometimes even as few as 2-3 weeks ago in the same condition offered I do scratch my head. When the book is now being offered for even more than the sales data of a copy(copies) that is 2 grades higher that also have fairly recent sales then I immediately close the thread.
Mind you, I have and do pay above GPA on books of which I'd probably have a hard time breaking even on, but 40-70% higher is never realistic.
I know whoooo you're talkin' about! (said in a sing'song voice).

Damn Poker, you are on a roll! How many more on your list?
-
Hopefully these high prices will bring out more HG war books that are snugged away in people's collections. There are some DC war trooper books I need to upgrade. But not willing to pay nosebleed prices.
-
I might have some more raw 9.8 potential copies in my collection, don't think I'll have them graded though. Unless, I have some of them signed. I wonder how scarce this issue really is.

Heeeeeey, is it almost April Fool's Day again? Did Paratrooper send you those emails?
Hope your dad doesn't let it bother him too much, Some People Suck!
Wasn't me this time! I swear!
I <3 BL's dad.

I probably overpaid....but had to get it anyway. I have 20 raw copies of this book, but here's my first slab:

Thanks again Andrew (thumbs u
Nice addition to your "Chute run Ray
How's that comic room coming? Do I have to come over there and whip you into shape???
GET ON WITH IT!!!
And now...
A couple of new additions to my shelf space. I am always looking for something to decorate my comic room and pretty much anywhere else in the "Casa Del Geek"
It was a good day...
Above is the Tim Bradstreet inspired Punisher statue. I pretty much have every other Punisher statue, so it only seemed fair to take this guy home with me. The Spidey/Venow statue is just awesome... no special reason to get it, just looked cool! I have a few other Kotobukiya staues and find the detail just stunning!
Sin City Marv (Dynamic Forces) full size statue. I was actually pleasantly surprised when I got home and discovered it was #50 of 199 of the Artist's Proof run
Very cool and HEAVY statue! Man-Thing... I am an alligator lover and saw this and knew right where it was going (see below). Nothing special about this one, just cool to look at!
"Alligator Alley"...
Well, that's all folks! Once I finish (maybe this weekend as I am finally off work and HOME) my comic room, I will post new pics in the comic room thread in general.
Now back to watching: The Mindscape of Allan Moore. "A psychedelic journey into one mind of one of the world's most powerful minds". I don't know about that, but so far so good
John

Wow, thanks scrooge! I would have thought that War titles would have been more popular during the 1940's, guess I was wrong!
-
Tom Mix #9 & 10 are featured in SOTI, so some people collect this title...well, just those two issues anyway.
-
Yes. Bill is a Mississippi geezer. No Cajun. Two great books!
But you obviously have me mistaken with Parker, he's the Cajun Geezer around these parts
I may live in MS, but I will always be a New Orleanian at heart.
and I'm far too young and virile to be a geezer
B itch, please.

Picked up a couple of early Fights I needed for the Senorita Rio run including her first appearance (# 19) and a higher grade # 36, part of the tough 30's run -
Great pick up

What a terrific and constructive thread. Thank you, Michael!
Now we need to find Paratrooper, who seemed very confused yesterday:)
Not anymore! Well maybe a little, but not about supplies!
-
Sorry, but I'm always suspicious when there's a huge jumps in prices in short periods of time. I mean just last year I bought tons of Pedigree HG DC war from Metro for fractions of what CLinks books sold for.
-
Thank you very much Pirate for getting these signed for me (thumbs u

You're supposed to mail in the cert so they can remove it from the census.
CGC will only remove the book from the census if they receive the cert.
If you make really good photocopies of the certs, will they delist everything so that my Batman #428 becomes the only one on the census in 9.8....?
You could probably just ask CGC to do that for you, pretty sure no one but you cares about that set.
-
Why to people increase their price here and claim its a bargin? A lot of us look at other sites and can easily see the book elsewhere for less. Ask what you want, I don't care, just don't lie to us about it. 'nuff said
I've mentioned that before, glad I'm not the only one that sees this going on.
