  1. Here is the deal. The overstreet advisors have a responsibility as the leaders of this hobby to move it forward not just financially but historically as well. For over 20 years, the overstreet advisors have been focussing on pricing of comics and forgetting about their other duties as historians. There have been some great historical articles in the Overstreet Price Guide by individuals over the last 20 years but as a collective (overstreet advisors) they have failed or neglected with historical progression of this hobby. I am hoping by the 50th Overstreet Price Guide that all the overstreet advisors spend a few days or a weekend and tackle the historical part of this hobby. This includes; 1. Designation of the Chromium Age (1993 - ?), 2. Emergence of the Digital or Silicon Age (i.e. Movies, TV, internet, digital comics, etc..) 3. Designation of new classic covers (i.e. Hulk #340, X-Men #141, Batman #251, etc..) 4. New or updated definitions (i.e. 1st Appearance, cameo, variant, restoration, conservation, etc...) 5. Misc. (i.e. Foriegn Editions, Newsstands, grading, etc...) Note: It is almost universally accepted now that the next age will be "Chromium Age" (1993 - ?) due to the foil, holofoil, hologram, chromium & variant covers that dominated the age. With the next being "Silicon Age" due to emergence of comics in popular culture through movies, TV, internet & digital comics. Modern Age should always be used for the current age until it is designated by the overstreet price guide as something else.
  2. BINGO!!!! The same people who pumped Gotham City Sirens #1 3 to 4 years ago didn't have anymore copies and needed a cheaper alternative to pump. (Just do a search and you will find it) I wish they would just accept GCS 1 as the 1st appearance and move on. The funny part is this will happen again with another book they've pumped to early and are left within no copies only to pump a cheaper alternative later. I will let the market or collecting community decide what is the 1st appearance, I just post the information. Agreed, again, read the explanation as to why Tec is relevant. GCS is a series title. They don't even say it in the story. Stop looking for a fight you are going to lose. I never once said Detective Comics 850 or any other book was not important. I said the books are weak on evidence as 1st appearance. I never told anyone not to get it.

  4. What is ridiculous? The market went after Tec 850. If the market has deemed that a book to have then an earlier book which features the three together as a team should also be considered a book to have, no? Nobody is talking about BA 12 because they aren't a team in that book; they are fighting with each other. Thanks for coming out. We already know that. It's was a joke.
  5. I don't understand why Gotham City Sirens 1 can't be the 1st appearance. Why are we trying so hard to find another comic as there 1st appearance. All the evidence so far has been weak.
  6. This is getting ridiculous. I'm surprised no one said Batman Adventures 12 as the 1st appearance of Gotham City Sirens since they all appear in a comic together for the 1st time. No, it's not the 1st appearance.
  7. Got a few more ashcans like Xeno, Galaxion, Cynicalman, Lethargic Lad, Mundane Adventures of Dishman and a few others.
  8. I can't seem to find my scans of 1st print Yummy Fur Ashcans Yummy Fur Ashcans
  9. Johns is the head of DC so might not be a title he worked on. This is how I see it. - Static has been talked about for years. - Legion of Super-heroes has been teased on Supergirl and flash tv shows. - Birds of Prey has a good chance now that the movie has been changed to Gotham City Sirens. Recently the DC tv shows have added a few female heroes connected to Birds of Prey like black canary and gypsy. - Metal Men has been mentioned before as a tv show. - The Question is another character they have talked about which could be connected to Birds of Prey with The Huntress.
  10. Static Legion of Super-heroes Metal Men Birds of Prey Vertigo title
  11. Rarest comic I own. 15 Cent Price Variant
  12. Yes. Those ashcans from the 80's are hard. Zot, moebius, flaming carrot, grips, yummy fur, etc.. are other examples.
  13. Yeah this book is impossible in 9.8 and even harder to find. Only by luck was I able to find the other 2 CGC 9.8's.
  14. what does this mean? I think it's about the argument over what constitutes a 1st appearance and what should the hobby value more in the variations that people have come up with. Thor 411 is the more important New Warriors book to some and 412 to others. Sweet Juggernaut cover vs. sweet green cover with washed up heroes. Thor 411
