  1. What is the purpose of the "re-submission" check box option when sending in a comic?
  2. Greetings! We had a recent submission come back with the following Grader Note: 2.5"" of spine splits This note uses the word "splits" (plural) - as if the Grader measured each separate split (less than 1/4 inches) and added them together to arrive at a combined total of 2.5" for the entire spine. Is this the method CGC uses to determine the length of a comic's spine-split? I'm asking because my comic doesn't have a single 2.5" spine split.
  3. Its been fun to build this collection over the years, but the time has come for me to part ways with it. I figured I'd post here before taking it to Ebay (cringe). This is a massive collection, only missing the early X-men and Wolverine. Issues have been stored bagged/boarded in a smoke-free home in room temperature. I'm hoping to sell the entire lot at once, but willing to entertain individual offers (PM me). Asking $4,500 shipped. I'm working on getting pictures. The majority of this collection is FN/VF greater. Issues will ship without bags/boards to cut down on weight. PM me if interested. Please no one on the naughty list. 4. I have a copy of Giant-Size X-Men #1 that's currently CGC graded at 7.0 (images attached). Some of the white-spaces on the front and back cover appear to have dirt smudges. For example, one of the attached images shows stains below the words "Senses Shattering". Another shows stains along the top of the back-cover. The edges line up near-perfect, so I think its been pressed before. Do you think this is a candidate for "pressing" by CGC (since the service will try to remove stains)? I'm ultimately trying to determine if CGC may grade this higher if the smudges are removed.
  5. I've spoken to several collectors on this topic - each has a different pinion. If a cover is completely detached (but the cover and interior are otherwise complete) - does the issue receive an automatic GREEN label? I've seen many BLUE labels that annotate "Cover Detached", so I'm not sure how CGC now handles detached-covers.
  6. I was about to write this ... I think the only option is carbon dating, no idea how much that costs. This comic is from the 1930's, so it would be easy to verify. This leads to the question of how does CGC certify a page from a comic that doesn't have any time-stamps, as CGC isn't carbon dating.
  7. Hi everyone. I'm considering purchasing a single-page of a rare comic, from a dealer. The page is slabbed by PGX and carries a grade of 'NG' with no serial on the slab. My plan will be to submit it to CGC for grading and to have it re-slabbed. I'm basically trying to determine if the page from the comic is real, and I can't find any information about the 'NG' PGX grade. I thought single-pages were given a 0.1 grade. With no serial #, is there any way that I can verify the page is real? Thank you.
  8. I'm interested in purchasing a CGC graded comic with a serial certification number of 0242499006, but this isn't found in the CGC database. I'm concerned about being scammed as the seller explains that there aren't any notes for the 2.0 graded comic. Is it normal for a cert number to not be found - or does that indicate the comic-grading may not be genuine? The reason I'm investigating is because the seller said the comic's never been cleaned or pressed, but I don't know how he can tell this without grader notes.
