Thanks all! Looks like we have a consensus. I'll be slabbing it for sure, to preserve it. It feels in good shape but it can't handle too much more jostling around or changing owners.

Hi all, I got this low grade copy of X-men 50. There's a lot to love about it, but I'm really bad at grading old copies like this. I'm thinking 4.5? The stain on the back doesn't go through to the pages.

Moderns that are heating up on ebay!
Jjmmm replied to thirdgreenham's topic in Modern Age Comic Books
Yup, and there are a ton of raw copies in good shape for ~$25. I sold my 9.8 for triple what I had into it, and grabbed a high grade raw for my PC. Love the book, but there's so many out there my confidence on it is low. -
Aye, okay, didn't quite understand what that forum was. Thanks! Mods, feel free to delete if this is annoying clutter!

Hi y'all, I've gotten pretty good at grading estimates on raw books, but I could use some backup on this hot book. I grabbed it because I wanted a copy for the PC, and it was graded an 8.0 white pages. Looking closely, there are a couple of little bumps, a slight spine raise, a tiny bit of dirt on spine in the mid lower back. But I would have put this at an 8.5 from what I can see. Mainly thinking of cracking and pressing as I think each concern would be removed or reduced fairly easily. Thoughts? Thanks!

Modern Star Wars Comics that are heating up
Jjmmm replied to mr_highgrade's topic in Modern Age Comic Books
I'll admit, I just spent $100 on a pristine Mace Windu #5. I like the "in canon" appearance a little more, and I think as Ahsoka's first continues to climb this one will too. May grab another when it dips in mid 2021 before show news. -

Ms. Marvel 13 - 1st appearance of Kamran just exploded as well. I had a 9.8 sitting on Ebay for awhile and it just went. Had no idea what to price it for, time will tell if I did good or not! -

On Last Ronin and print run - I've seen #'s when there is a variant or two, but wasn't there something like 60 for this one? I'd assume there is a minimum of (shot in the dark) 750 for a variant. That's 45,000 right there. I don't think variants affect the first print/first cover value much, but you'd think it would help the overall availability of most everyone getting one to read.... -

Here's another one - The only one I've purchased. I really liked the Rasputin character (and tend to think she'll return), so I picked it up. I don't chase variants for value, just if they connect with me in some way. Really dig this one - lukewarm on a lot of his others.

Booster Gold 1 - Printing roll...
Jjmmm replied to Jjmmm's topic in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?
Thanks y'all. I have two copies and will probably send them both in, knowing now that this wrap isn't a huge deal. They are both in roughly the same condition otherwise, so it will be a nice comparison. Which one to keep will be the next question... -

Just finding this thread, so ignore me this has been discussed. Any love for the 101 - 115 run? S.A.W. Viper, Snake Eyes on a death mission when he thought Scarlett was dying, the Oktober Guard, and real deaths. Storm Shadow's water tower base. After all these years, it's still the main run that I read. The three storylines cover so many characters, but they all get great moments. And it felt like the stakes were much higher than the early issues. I have the whole run in individual issues, but they are quite well loved!

Hey there, Have this copy of Booster Gold 1 in (probably) unread condition. White pages, no visible cover issues. BUT - it has a bad printing roll of the cover. It's not something a press would fix (i don't think?) Without that I'd probably put it at 9.6...any help on what it does to the grade?? Last picture shows it best. Thanks.

Thanks y'all! I won't be selling it, but glad I found this one as it was only going to get in rougher shape!

Hi - Mister Miracle and Big Barda are two of my favorite characters. I'm thinking of slabbing a 1 and 4 for personal preservation. I have a few of each, I buy lower grade copies for cheap when I see them just to preserve them. This one is a little higher grade (but not 'high' grade), curious as to what it really is. I'm thinking 6.0? The bottom right fraying is the biggest problem. The pages are nearly white.

Hi - Not new to collecting, but deciding to grade some of my favorite issues. I have a newsstand Batman 457 that is in great condition, basically un-read, but has a slightly weak 'feel'. I guess how I would describe it is the paper quality from that run feels a little cheaper than some other eras. With that, the only issue I can see is slightly OW pages. But the bigger question is - does that cheaper 'feel' affect the grade?
