  1. I pulled my raw copy out to look and it has the same defect in the same spot but not nearly as bad. My raw copy actually looks nicer than my slabbed 9.8 so I'm gonna send it in and see what grade CGC gives it I'll leave one pic of both the graded and the raw here just for comparison but I'm gonna post the entire book on the "spare a grade?" board.
  2. The seller says its color chipping and CGC is lenient on that for 9.8s. These visible defects drive me nutzo! Normally, Id just sell/upgrade it... problem here is there are only three 9.8s out there right now. Cmon guys...get those Toxin 4s graded pleeeeeeeaaaaase! I know one you guys are sitting on a stack of em.
  3. I contacted the seller to ask if the defect was already present when they sent it to CGC. Im 99% sure he was the original owner. I will update when he replies.
  4. When I purchased this 9.8 I figured it was debris inside the slab but now that I have it in hand I can see that it's actually on the spine. So would this be considered a production flaw or is this type of damage actually allowable on a 9.8? There are also a couple of very, very light spine bends that don't break color.
  5. Its not that challenging, really. List them by Title, number and date...take GOOD pics of the spines, corners, edges and inner pages and then list the auction on Ebay.
  6. I dont stress about scratches anymore. They can be cleaned up rather easily. My theory is that CGC has a bad batch of slabs that came in already scratched. Newton rings, cracks, warped books and debris inside the slabs are what I worry about. Oh and those unsightly scuffs!
  7. I got a shipment from an Ebay seller today...10 books. They were wrapped in tons of saran wrap and heavy duty packing tape.
  8. I use modern bags/boards but most of my collection is modern. As long as the book slides in and out easily. I keep a small supply of silver bags/boards. If I have to use any force to get a book into a modern bag, Ill use silver.
  9. I have a ton of gemini maiers in the basement from years of buying raws on Ebay.
  10. Why isnt the opening edge straight? That would bother me more than the hair.
  11. I dont use any tape of any kind...ever. I dont want someone at CGC getting frustrated while opening my package or snagging my comic on the tape as its being removed from the bag. I put the comic in a Ultra Pro bag with a few extra boards...NO TAPE I then put the comic in a gemini mailer...NO TAPE I wrap the gemini mailer in bubble wrap...NO TAPE I put the bubble wrapped gemini mailer into a USPS box and seal it...NO TAPE
  12. Meh, Id prob pay whatever my high bid was but not a penny more. Still a shill auction though. Im bidding on an expensive auction right now and Im getting that shill feeling. I usually snipe but I have a feeling the high bid is untouchable and the seller is testing the waters to see what they could get. Ill make my best offer with 1 minute left. Thats basically what these shill auctions boil down to. Your highest bid = your best offer.
  13. Post office doesn't always scan the label at every stop. Don't sweat it...yet.
  14. Yeah, the seller told me the book came directly from the Diamond Comics and I believe him. Its in fantastic condition but for that line. The question is...will CGC take points off the grade when I send it in?
  15. I have a 14 year old and she is not a big Miles Morales fan. She has all the Spidey movies on blu ray and I rarely see her watching Spiderverse. She loves the T. McGuire movies. Unless they kill Peter Parker and all Peters enemies become Miles' enemies, Miles will never be Spider Man...he will only be Miles Morales. UF4 is being pumped and dumped. There are around 40 CGC 9.6s on ebay. In a 9.6 Its worth more than NM98. Its worth as much as TWD1. Its approaching ASM 300.
  16. Light scratches clean up easily enough. . Get a tube of polywatch and some graded comic bags.
  17. Have him sign the case and get a pic with him after with youre holding it. You can always wash off the sig if you ever feel the need to.
  18. Thank you so much. Would you be able to send me the submission #?... because searching with the order # didnt work.
