  1. Thanks! That was a nice, panic inducing read. My house is made of wood so my comics are DOOMED !
  2. Im 99% sure that I listed them both on the "spare a grade?" board a while back and they got good, potential grades from the guys there.
  3. The books are Wolverine 8 and Marvel Zombies 1 so theyre def not vintage.
  4. I sent in a few books for pressing/grading. These books "looked" perfect to me...potential 9.8s...but I had them pressed anyway. Should I have just left them as is and rolled the dice or did I do the smart thing here?
  5. 2 books - fast track modern - no press scheduled for grading 2/28 shipped 3/7
  6. They should reholder that for you for free. I have a reholder thats been at CGC for a couple months now. It was scheduled for grading a month ago. Thay dont actually grade a reholder so im not sure why its scheduled for grading. Ive done a bunch of reholders though and it always says that. This one is taking longer than the others though.
  7. 1 year doesnt go far enough IMO...should be 5 years UNLESS its for a signing event ...works for me.
  8. Maybe thats the answer we ARE NOT looking for. If CGC were to double its prices that would stop a lot of the bum books from being submitted...no? Of course, we would then complain about the prices even though our books were getting graded faster. But hey, we cant expect CGC to simply lose money... so the rest of us will have to make up the lost revenue by paying double. Which do we prefer? Pay what we are currently paying and wait 9 months or pay double and wait 4 months?
  9. Marvel should sell books already graded. Hire or train some specialists to pull the best books form the production process...only 9s and 10s get the Marvel Comics slab. Just imagine...variant slabs!
  10. "...but I'll certainly take it!" You may also regret it in a few years when you look back.
  11. If I'm looking for a certain book, ill actually seek out sellers that list books as NM+ or assign a nice high grade like 9.6. There are some VERY good sellers on Ebay. The key for me is that they must have 100% positive feedback and a ton of recent sales. I've found a few guys who I consider my "go to guys" on Ebay. I always check their stock first before I shop around for a book.
  12. I never list books as NM. If im selling a NM book, Ill list it as VF+ or better with a lot of clear pics. Ive never had a buyer return a book to me in 3 years now.
  13. You should WANT TO accept returns because at least youll get back what you shipped out. Sellers with no return policy risk a buyer damaging your book just to have a reason to file a not as described case against you. Lets say the buyer had trimmed those pages himself...how would you prove who did it? Ebay will side with the buyer and youll get a damaged book back. Not worth it.
  14. Spawn 300 Gold. 288 of the 500 copies in circulation have been graded and not one copy graded above a 9.8.
  15. Im VERY happy with all my 9.8s because they look perfect. Ive returned many 9.8s along the way that did not. Do you have a lot of 9.8s in your collection with visible defects?
  16. I had an uncle that collected stamps. I remember him showing them to me when I was probably around 10-11 years old. He was so excited. I was bored but respectful. My daughter is 13. She gets so excited when I allow her to flip through my comics. Its like Christmas morning to her.
  17. I agree 100% 9.8s should "look" perfect. There are a lot of folks here who disagree. Ive lost count of how many times Ive been told that 9.8s are not perfect. Well, if thats the case...where are all the 9.9s and 10s?
  18. FINGER BENDS ! As for the book, I think thats a manufacturer defect so you may be good there. There are smarter folks here so hang in for a better answer.
  19. Seriously: Buy what YOU like. Buy the book, not the grade. Thats all I got.
