  1. Dont buy raw books from Ebay unless it says HIGH GRADE or NM+ in the description.
  2. Just list it for $200 free shipping and take best offers. If I wanted that run for my collection I'd pay $2.00 a book. Could I get it cheaper by putting in more effort? Sure but id rather get them in 1 sale, from one seller.
  3. That's an awesome run. Yeah, I wish I hadn't stopped collecting back in the day. I only go 1-115 and then it jumps all the way to 298. I'd love to fill that gap but I don't see it ever happening unless I get lucky at a flea market or pawn shop. I have a Spidey run I'd like to finish before I die 😆 I blew all my Spawn 💰 on these
  4. I just checked the prices and good god, man! To each his own and all but I'd never pay that much for a 10 year old Spawn comic that isnt slabbed and signed by Todd.
  5. I dont get the whole "low print run" thingy. I can find 20 copies of any "low print run" Spawn book on Ebay so its not like they are hard to find.
  6. I am. The only thing that would change my opinion is the market. When those slabs start selling at equal value of CGC slabs, I would feel good about trying them. I don't plan on selling my collection but the last thing I wanna worry about when I do decide to is how much less I should make my BIN price compared to CGC slab sales.
  7. Wow. Maybe they do only have 2 graders then. I guess all those "other" slabs will hit Ebay at one time and at discounted prices. No one is buying them at CGC slab prices, thats for sure. Id rather keep my books raw.
  8. Yeah, I doubt the other guys are waaaay behind unless they only have one grader. Who sends anything to the other guys?
  9. Yes! Store your slabs flat on their backs, my friends. Gravity is real.
  10. I think 9.8s that have been pressed are more likely to have a color break on the spine. The press made the book look perfect except for that color break so it gets a 9.8. 9.6s that have been pressed can prob have 2 - 3 color breaks.
  11. Could it be cgc grades those TMNT books on a curve? I had that exact book graded and it came back 9.2. It had serious color breaks on the spine. I also had a #7 2nd print (purple Krang) graded and it came back 9.8. It had many spine creases but they didnt break color. Both of those books came back WP and both clearly had yellowing pages. You could see it even while slabbed. So I sold them.
  12. I dont know what a fanboy is. I was a 14 year old kid with a $10 a week allowance. The only thing I was ordering back then was Columbia House cds... in my dogs name.
  13. You guys may be older than me too. At age 14, I just wanted to read the stories and enjoy that 90s artwork. When Image formed, I was floating on a cloud of joy!
  14. To be honest, I don't really understand that. Unless you're afraid a book will sell out before you get there...whats the point? Standing in front of the rack was exciting for me. That first look at Todd's latest cover or Jim Lee or Liefeld. That was my favorite part. At one time I had a large pile of back issues held for me because I couldn't afford both new releases and back issues on my allowance. If I got extra cash id stop in and buy a few off the top of the stack. That's more of a hold box, not a pull box. 😆
  15. I was 14 in 1992. Waiting at the door of my LCS on new release morning. There was always a small group waiting for them to unlock the door. It was chaos at the rack for the first hour or so. It was a busy shop. Seemed to me we were just grabbing a copy of the titles we collected and moving on. I don't think anyone was taking extra time to inspect books for finger bends. Shout out to Starship Excalibur - Providence R.I.
  16. I have not bought off the rack in forever because I dont buy new comics. I always wonder what its like to pick off the rack in 2022. Are there a bunch of guys standing there looking for the best copy or do they just grab the first book and move on like I did as a kid? Id prob be that guy standing there with the entire stack in my clutches, looking for that 9.8.
  17. Was it good? I have both seasons on blu ray but never watched em
  18. 😆 The only one I remember watching had the Russian from Rocky 4. Didn't he play He Man too? Yep yep...im an 80s kid.
  19. I use media mail to ship comics. Ive shipped 50 comics, double boxed and with plenty of bubble wrap for like $8 Yeah, I know, I know BUT ive never had an issue and until ebay removes media mail as an option for shipping comics, I will use it. The post office doesnt mess with boxes that have official Ebay mailing labels. They can toss it around and smash in all four corners and the damage still wont reach the books inside.
