  1. What a nightmare. My file drawers have locks on them. Thats where I keep my slabs BUT I dont lock the cabinet that holds the big money books. Reverse psychology. Theyll think the good stuff is in the locked drawers and bypass the unlocked one. Genius, I know. I also have a ferret that I let have the run of the house while im at work. He knows what to do.
  2. Do they have a Newberry Comics where youre all at? They have shelves way up near the ceiling and thats where they put their big money books...about 12 inches away from the bright lights.
  3. I have a few raw copies and they all have waves on the top and bottom of the pages. Does this affect the grade at all? The one in my pic is a 9.6 but it looks flawless other than the waves
  4. Maybe I have a touch of ocd but that Maxx 1/2 is not a natural wave.
  5. I don't have a lot of examples cause ive been returning them to the sellers when they are really bad. Here are 2 I kept cause they aren't that bad.
  6. I hope dealers stop sending in thousands of books that came out last month. Its clogging up the system.
  7. Is that shaken comic syndrome? Im noticing it more and more and wondering if its a side effect of the new holders. Theres more room in the cases now and you can move the book form one side to the other with a light tap.
  8. Sellers who dont accept returns sometimes use high shipping costs as a way to counter buyers who make up reasons to return books. Sellers dont have to refund the original shipping in most cases. Thats the only explanation I have.
  9. If your father doesnt wanna pass them down to you...buy them from him at the father/son discount and HOLD THEM.
  10. CGC opened my box in April. CCS received my books in August. Im hoping they get pressed by June and graded by Christmas 2022.
  11. This is why there are so many "less than" slabs floating around. If CGC sends YOU a slab with debris inside...SEND IT BACK TO CGC...dont try and sell it to us.
  12. I'm telling you...there are folks dug in like ticks at cgc trying to hurt the company. Total conspiracy, man. Has to be. There's evil afoot.
  13. Yeah, it's becoming a gamble not to press books. Personally, I think pressing is a form of restoration. But Itd be too hard for the graders to tell which books have been pressed so...here we are, pancaking books trying to get a higher grade.
  14. This is why I search out sellers who offer free returns. I'm a seller myself and I offer free returns. It's just good business.
  15. Damn, I'm guessing these subs were not pressed to get hammered like that. No visible defects on the Xmen 4 and it got a 9.2? Wow
  16. Grading isnt all that tight. I just returned a 9.8 to a seller on ebay ...book had an obvious color break on the spine. The book was graded in Dec.
  17. This book will be stuck in "received at CCS" purgatory at least another 8 months.
  18. I have a 22 year old son. I could never get him into comics even though he LOVED the Spider Man movie. He was 2 years old when it came out and it dominated his childhood to the point that he memorized every line. If I leave him my books, they will be on Ebay before my body is cold. He watches Marvel movies but still doesnt care about comics. He would rather read mangas. But im lucky enough to have a 13 year old daughter who does show interest in my comics. She flips through them every chance she gets and has read a lot of them. They will go to her when im gone. My son can have my dvd/cd collection...and his mangas.
  19. I think im gonna settle for a 9.2 platinum Spidey and a 9.6 Spawn 300 gold...its the only way I can afford both.
  20. Cant decide! I have a Spawn 300 silver cgc 9.8 and would love to own the set but Id also love to own the Spidey book because, you know...SPIDER MAN!
  21. Probably but I'm one of these guys that collects what he likes. Crazy, right?
