  1. If you could only afford to buy one of these books, which would you purchase and why? Spiderman 1 platinum cgc 9.4 Spawn 300 gold cgc 9.8
  2. AWESOME! I wish I wasnt so paranoid and didnt feel the need to press every book I send in.
  3. I was 13 years old. I'm just glad it happened. My Image collection may not be worth a ton but I really enjoy flipping through them TRENCHER!
  4. Auction houses, no doubt that's what I'd do.
  5. I'm curious...is it a recent submission? I've noticed with recently graded books I've purchased, I can tap the slab and move the book from one side to the other. Or maybe it's just the inner case that moves around. There's def movement either way.
  6. WTF is a "fine" scratch?
  7. I paid a little more than $100 for it in the cbcs slab. I haven't checked recent sales in a while but I'm guessing a cgc 9.8 would fetch around $250. It took a looooooong time to get it back. 7 months or so.
  8. I don't buy new comics. I don't like the glossy pages, they cost too much and most of the writers are barely capable. Don't even get me started on variants. Now get off my lawn. 😆
  9. 90s books may have been overprinted but : world population 1995 = 5.7 billion world population 2020 = 7.8 billion ^^^ This has to matter...no?
  10. Im sure some of you know about this stuff already. It really does help with scratches on slabs. It doesnt make a scratch go away completely but it makes them very faint and hard to see. If you have scratched slabs, give it a try...its cheap too.
  11. Well, are prices higher or is the value of your dollar lower?
  12. I've purchased a few cracked slabs and didn't have any problem getting them reslabbed. That one should be good to go. It'll cost you like $40 all in.
  13. How did some of these even survive? Who bought them off the racks with them looking like that? So strange to me. My Punisher 2 (limited) has a perfect yellow stripe along the spine...looks AWESOME (to me)... but some of these examples are just upsetting to the eyes.
  14. Well, with shipping and taxes it comes to $6.00 so...its not like the buyer got it for a penny.
  15. I sold a 9.8 with multiple spine bends because it drove me crazy. I own a 9.8 with a color break on the spine. I dont look at it because it bothers me. I have PERFECT 9.8s. My question is...if I can have 9.8s with spine wear...WHERE ARE THE 9.9s - 10s?
  16. If he was educated enough to know what to grab he's prob smart enough to crack the slabs and simply have a crackhead take em to the nearest pawn shop for him. There really is nothing between us and the criminals anymore. The powers that be want it this way.
  17. That's why I suggested posting pics of those issues on the "spare a grade" board. I certainly trust those guys. I'd send in #8 if they told me it wad a 9.0 or better. The other 2 books would have to be 9.4-9.6 for me to take the chance and if they came back 9.2 they'd still be an easy sell.
  18. I always buy low grade, reader copies or reprints of my slabbed books. This way I dont get tempted to crack em. Then again, I dont collect SERIOUSLY valuable books. My most valuable book is TWD 1.
  19. Its best to forget about them until your card is charged...youll get an email.. I was told Its a 9 month pit stop between CCS receiving them and CGC getting them. CCS should really be called Purgatory at this point.
  20. Secret Wars l #s 1, 3 & 8 are worth slabbing if they're in great condition. Post pics of them on the "spare a grade" board and the experts will let you know what's what.
  21. Maybe "they" sabotage from within to try and get rid of upper management so "they" can take over the company? I apologize if I just BLEW YOUR MIND !
  22. HAHAHAHA I sent this in for a fresh slab because it had heavy Newton rings when I bought it. I got it for a good price so I figured...what the he'll...lets give it a fresh case. It just came home and I'm happy to say there isn't a Newton ring in sight. Now it has an ugly, wavy scratch instead. HAHAHAHA I laugh to keep from crying.
  23. Newton Rings are a case DEFECT. If they were normal they would be on every slab.
