  1. Both are lovely. Always wanted a Thrillkiller Babs.
  2. Just wanted to bump this. Not many pages out there. I made some more than fair offers but got crickets.
  3. As posted earlier, I recieved a large order from them about a month ago. It was a mixture of pre-purchase art and commissions from a years ago. I was told all the commissions were done and in hand about six months before the art was shipped to me. I would email them and they'd say "We have your order in hand and will contact you with the shipping info by the end of the month, once we're done this con". Then crickets. So the end of the month would pass and I'd email again. Crickets. I'd send another one and they'd respond saying the exact same thing they said before, only prepping for a different con. After this routine happened five or six times, they did send everything to me and it arrived just fine. I didn't feel that they were trying to rip me off in any way, but my instinct was that they were behind on orders yet still prioritizing conventions. Eventually I had to say several times: "I understand con season is crazy, but con season is essentially all year now and I paid you thousands of dollars years ago. You told me my purchases would be shipped out six months ago, so please ship them to me this month regardless of upcoming conventions."
  4. It took ages, but I finally recieved a relatively large order I placed several years ago. Everything turned out fine and the art is great. There were communication problems though. They were always quick to respond to take my money, but told me it was ready to ship about six months before they actually shipped it (they referenced being busy with "con season" about six times as an excuse). And this was after they would only respond to every fourth email I sent. I think of them as mediocre. They aren't going to rip you off or take your money and run, and they do rep some nice artists. But you will have to wait a while and put up with some annoying service before you get your art For some buyers, that may be worth it, for others not so much. As for me, I won't write them off entirely, but I definately won't use them as much as I did before.
  5. I am wondering if anyone here knows where Bagley's Blackest Night art ended up? There a few pages for sale here and there from Spencer Beck. I missed a nice page on heritage last year. I am specifically looking for pages from JLA's Blackest Night Storyline that feature Zatanna. These were primarily issues 38, 39, and 40. I know Bagley is known for Spiderman, but he was my favorite of the artists to work on Blackest Night and really did a lot of the lesser known DC heroes justice.
  6. Sketch covers (and basic con sketches) are two of the things that some artists cheap out on, right? You can tell who devotes a decent chunk of time, and who fires one out in 3 minutes. I find it to be a good way to measure an artist's "integrity" outside of the publishing world. If an artist does a good sketch cover, you know their other commissions will be great too. But it doesn't always work the other way!
  7. Here is a sketch cover I bought from one of Steve's auctions. The fella does fantastic sketch covers. He doesn't phone them in the way some artists do.
  8. First of all, your "Hot Stuff" piece is I think my favorite ever work of Steve's. Congrats! Secondly, I'm going to add my own art here when I get home from work!
  9. Happy Halloween everyone! I continue to discover fun art, series, and even new artists on this forum! Today, I got this from Richard Pace. I think you can still back his book Coven on Zoop. Apologies for the crummy instascreen.
  10. I have some of his art from Hack/Slash. Very underrated artist.
  11. Post your Halloween art (bonus points if it's not just horror related, but actually Halloween themed). Here's Batgirl & Nightwing reenacting their first date. By Craig Cermak
  12. I don't take this like this personally. Everyone has their preferences, right.
  13. This stuff I'm okay with (fist, waist) as that has always been a part of Gedeon's style. The neck is the part that usually isn't disproportionate even in his pages.
  14. Got this from (removed). I don't think it has been shipped to me yet. I love it, except I keep wondering if her neck is too long. (Removed) has a disproportionate style anyway, and nobody on his Instagram has critiqued it... but I can't unsee it. Am I crazy, or should I ask for him to shorten her neck somehow? PS: sorry it's a measly phone screenshot. Best I have at the moment. (Image was removed). What say the board? Edit: I'm starting to think it's just an illusion from the cape/cowl style combo... 2nd Edit: Image and artist name removed to help the thread die in peace.
  15. 9 by 12 art by Nathan Gooden, artist and co creator of vault's new hit series Barbaric. The art is pencil and ink. It depicts two characters, Soren and Axe. A piece by Gooden in this range is typically upwards of $400. I am trying to raise some funds for some life events both good and bad (my wedding, my Father's ailing health). $250, payment by paypal goods and services. Shipping is free in North America ($25 worldwide).
  16. Is this selling area also applicable to original comic art, or is that a seperate sub forum?
  17. Had a seller with a handful of pages up... Several had been up for years... I said I might be interested in multiple. Guy was totally polite and seemed eager to get a deal done, including saying he'd be happy to work out a deal. I offered him an amount, saying it was the total I'd be willing to pay for the pages and shipping. He agreed, but then right before payment asked me to pay more to cover his global shipping program fee... Saying he assumed the "total" was the total he'd be receiving, after eBay took their global shipping amount. I have never seen someone interpret "total I will pay" that way... I asked if he would be willing to ship another way and he declined. So why should I have to pay more than our agreed upon amount? Still, I was hoping we could compromise... I offered to pay half his global shipping fees (still more than the total we agreed on). He got angry... Sigh, I feel it was mostly a misunderstanding and we should have been able to meet in the middle ... Guess not.
  18. Thanks folks. Pulling off a deal with Spencer has been a tough nut to crack for me (I have yet to buy art from him, but do hope to one day). I will check out those sales. Thank you all! Edit: I received an email from Spencer. He felt he'd been helpful to me and did not necessarily deserve (or appreciate) my 'tough nut to crack' comment. Despite his unhappiness, his email was reasonable (I've emailed him back in kind). I feel he may have misinterpreted what I meant by my tough nut to crack comment, but I can see how that might come across more insulting than I intended, so I'll take responsibility for it (I've since edited it for clarity). I am a big believer in taking responsibility for one's part in something, however big or small. I did not mean that he is bad at his job, nor dishonest in any way. In fact, this most recent interaction he was quite helpful (as was this community, per usual). Over the past handful of years, I have had some interactions with him that were good, and some that seemed strange, vague, or non responsive. Recently, they have only been positive! Overall buying art from Spencer has felt elusive to me (Sometimes due to factors beyond Spencer's control such as my budget and Mr. Bagley's availability). This is what I meant by 'tough nut to crack': I've yet to actually have an interaction with Spencer that has lead to me buying art, but I do hope to 'crack that' one day. That's it. He is clearly a busy fellow that took the time to let me know how he felt. I respect that. I've had some good and some unsatisfying experiences with him, but I understand he likely has bigger fish to fry in the comic world than selling to someone on the budget of a Canadian social worker. My last few interactions with him were quite pleasant, fair, and informative. I sincerely hope that trend can continue, for us both!
  19. I'm looking to find a page by Bagley & Hennessey featuring Queen Goblin and Mary Jane. There are numerous pages like this is Amazing Spider-Man 89 and 90 (2022). I only see the odd one online, and Bagley's rep Spencer at the artist's choice has only older pages on his (very confusing) site. Anyone know how to get after a newer Bagley page? People are obviously buying them at reasonable rates, I just don't know how. Btw, Bagley himself is old school and doesn't seem to have much online presence...
  20. Yep. He did ask me to add 4% to cover fees if not using friends and family. I'll never use friends and family unless I've dealt with the artist more than twice already with good experiences.
  21. Well, I bit the bullet. Couldn't stop thinking about the art from the cancelled series. Juan says 3-6 months. Will keep everyone posted.
