  1. Sucks! Are they paying for return shipping? I'm sure they will. I just have to send it with my next order and they'll fix it. I have some reholders that I need to send in... so it'll probably just go with those. I'll most likely eat the cost of shipping it to them.
  2. Pretty happy with this one: Need to send back in for a new label, wrong info. Doesn't list it as the retailer variant

  4. Just picked up these at lunch, all strong VF/NM. "Werewolf BN" has some slight spine creases.... but not bad for the 3 books at $35.
  5. Just got back a nice Echo #1 9.9! My first high grade.
  6. I would love to get his signature and a sketch. Sure Land drew them first and Suydam pushed the books to multiple reprints, but to me Phillips is the definintive Zombies artist.
  7. Has anyone ever seen a Phillips signed Marvel Zombies? I have yet to. His signature seems very hard to obtain.
  8. No, sorry MK I only have this one and the one you passed on that was a 9.6 with a sweet Suydam sketch If you would have bit the bullet and allowed a 9.6 to grace your collection, you could have had that one at a great price It's so nice isn't it! I still have my MZ #1 9.8 SS by Kirkman & Suydam as well, including the second printing 9.6 SS by Kirkman & Suydam and a third printing 9.8 SS by Kirkman & Suydam. I have a really hard time letting those go.
  9. I once passed on a nice copy of Incred. Hulk #180. At the time I didn't know important issues #'s by heart and therefore didn't realize that it was basically the first apperance of Wolverine (on the last page). Worse thing was it was for .50 cents. Also, didn't pick up Ultimate Spider-man #1 or Ultimate X-Men #1 when they came out because I was absolutely sure it wasn't going to take off. Kick myself for passing on those.
  10. What is truly sad and scary is that the later issues (350-425), the modern drek as some call it, are nearly impossible to find slabbed 9.8. I took a look at my raw copies, the ones i bought from my LCS, and not many of them would score a 9.6. most would rade between 9.2-9.4. They aren't nearly impossible, it just that nobody thinks they are worth slabbing. Even if they would grade out as 9.9 copies, collectors just wouldn't slab them. I would slab em if they were good condition. Mine too are in the 9.2 range. I loved this X-Men time frame. Granted these wouldn't be worth more then $40 or $50, but still that's double your money.... which is what most strive for a modern. Sometimes people just love a cover so much that they want it graded for a nicer presentation. I would LOVE to get my hands on U. X-Men 350, one of my favorite covers. That Maggot one is nice. Whatever happened to Maggot anyways?
  11. I got several books back recently from CGC (will post picks soon): The Great/Good: Uncanny X-Men #30 - 9.8 (Wedding of Jean & Scott, totally happy with this. This is one of my favorite covers.) Witchblade 1/2 - Ruby Vairant - 9.8 (Only 500 made total, highest grade) Wolverine Origins #10 Retailer 3rd Claw Variant - 9.6 (Looks better then all my other 9.6's) Army of Darkness #13 - Phillips Reg Cover - 9.6 (Knew it was a 9.6 when I sent it in, but with the heat that the Zombies bring, should still do fine.) The Ok: Uncanny X-Men 268 - 9.4 (Jim Lee cover with Cap, Wolvie & Widow, thought it was a 9.6) Thuderbolts 110 Venom Variant - 9.6 (Swore this was at least a 9.8...). The Very Disappointing: Uncanny X-Men 248 - 8.0 (Got the info, thought it was a 9.8, was told that by GCG that they though it was a 9.6 except for a 8-inch bend on the the back..... I never look at the backs....shoot) Ucanny X-Men 80 (90's) DF Cover - 9.4 (Was hoping for at least a 9.6. And it came back as Qualified because of the DF sticker on the back) Uncanny X-Men 266 - 7.5 (1st Gambit, it looks great in the plastic. CGC said it had a faint crease on both the front and back...which I knew about...but didn't think it'd hurt the grade as much as it did. I thought it was an 8.5 or 9.0. One grader gave it an 8.0. Oh well.).
  12. I've never asked for a sketch before. Does the Artist usually charge for such a service? And does CGC charge extra for the sketch? I know they charge extra per sig. I had to buy something of Suydam's to have him just sign..... but I didn't think to ask for a sketch.
  13. I know it's hard to tell from a picture, but it looks like a fantastic copy. At least a 9.8. But you never know what's going on inside. That could be where the problem is.
  14. Eventually, yeah.... I think so. I'm debating to sell them since they're my first submissions... and took a lot of work/mula to get. But if I do sell them, then I'm debating to so as a set and/or maybe waiting till the second series starts up next summer. If you don't mind me asking, what would you hope to get them for (and of course free is always an easy answer)? I havn't seen any on ebay lately.
