Probably hopeful thinking they are a class-production issue. I my gut says they happend post publshing- anytime from when they were shipped and landed on the LCS shelf. To be honest, I hadn't looks at these in years and never noticed the scuffs before. They are so tiny that at first I thought when I saw the first one, that they were a white space dot and part of the prinitng. It wasn't until I looked at both and realized they are not in the exact same place, but they are so similar. You do have to look very close to see them and they don't jump off the cover. Hi All, What are you thoughts on an over all grade? Not in perfect shape for sure, but how much to all the little issue add up and drag down the grade? Pages are Off-White. Many small tics, some color breaking, but the most obvious worisome area is the back cover. I wonder if any of that is cleanable? Thanks

Hi All, Considering to send in two raw copies of Spider-Man #1 (Vol. 1 - 1990). What are your thoughts on a grade? There is a scuff on both issues in nearly the same exact spot. These could be publishing issues or happend while stacked on the LCS shelf back in the day. I bought them off the shelf, bagged and never read. Thanks!

Hi All, Considering to send in this raw copy of Marvel Team-Up #141. What are your thoughts on a grade? There are a couple issues, but some may be bindery/production errors. Possible issue I see listed below. 1. Cover Color Rub - Bottom right corner 2. Bindery Cut - Bottom right corner - miscut on page 3, that is not on the cover. 3. Bindery Cut - Top right corner - This goes through several pages up to about 4-5 4. Spine - looks pretty good. Might have 1-2 tics Thanks!

Hi All, Interested in your thoughts. Got a Marvel Tails #1 back with a 9.4 grade. No graders notes. There are no tics, corners look good, back looks great and had white pages. They only thing I see is ink smear from the printing process. You can see the ink smeared on back and front in same location of the book. Not from writing or from liquid, it looks to be from when the book rolled along a conveyor or something. Adding pictures. If there is nothing else, please point out if you see it, is this something that would be enough to grade it 9.4 vs 9.6 or 9.8? Should it be treated something like bindery tear?

I created a count down tracker for my submissions. I sent an inquiry to CGC about my submissions and was told on August 13th that they were currently at 108 days with my received date. I'm now at 134 days. I've been in GEI status for about 3 weeks. DSM = Days since mailed DSR = Days since received DSRP = Days since reply with 108 days estimate Getting more and more frustrated with all the waiting. I knew when I mailed them that there was a long delay, but I don't like waiting without status updates. I never got an update when my books moved from one status to another.

Hello All, I know that the difference between a 9.6 and 9.8 can be minimal and subjective. But I wanted to get your thoughts on this DC Comics Presents #26. It came back a 9.6, but for the life of me I can't see anything obvious as why it wasn't a 9.8. Not saying it is, I just can't see anything obvious to be a 9.6 vs. 9.8. Thanks in advance!

Is this normal or correct? I received two books from a recent submission where there is a piece of plastic visible in the back of the holder. It looks like it should be inside the book and instead is on the outside. Attached is an example picture. I do not see the same in the other 23 books I got back in the same submission.

That's a fair opinion. And I agree for the most part. The TAT's are already way to long, that's for sure. Especially when the difference is so large in grades, 3.0 to 6.0 as you point out. This is my first time submitting, so a learning expereince for sure. The notes would be nice, just to help with knowing what to look for the next time I submit. It's hard to gain experience when you are guessing why something was graded the way it was. If you had the notes you would know and be better at spotting things. They don't have to tell us their "seceret" process or anything, that's not what I am suggesting. Anyway, maybe when I get them back it will be obvious.

Hi All, My first set of 25 books have made it through to Finalized / Imaged / Shipped stage and I can see the grades for each book online. I won't go into the grades being a bit lower than expected, that post has been made a million times, I'm sure. What struck me was that very few of the books had grader's notes. Out of 25 books, only 4 had notes. Assuming that 9.8 is the gold standard (as 10/9.9 are rare), is it unreasonable to expect that anything below a 9.8 should have some sort of note indictating why the book was graded they way it was. Here's a good example of book I was expecting a 9.8 for and got a 9.2; "small crease right center of front cover breaks color". At least for this book I know what to look for when I get it back. I didn't see the crease, my presser never mentioned it and we looked over each book before and after. I sent in two of these books, both from in PC since I bought them off the shelf in 1987, and the other one came back 9.8. What are your thoughts?

I wonder, will they ship the 25 books when completed or wait until all 65 books in my order done?
