  1. i typed in my tracking number from my older order that is in processing and got a different message "Your package has been received. We will work on it next year unless you give us more money. Haha get wrecked noob you thought we were better than PSA. Our wait times are longer than BGS and we are gunna give you all 8s instead of 10s. Sucks to suck."
  2. thank god i only have 3 orders left with this company. all their decisions seem half baked. the time they spent making a tracking conformation could have went elsewhere. like grading bulk
  3. Thats what happens when you have mods on a stupid forum instead of being in the mail room. I dont get why they dont delete this place and just put them in the mail room or do customer support through email. Seems like a completely waste of resources if you ask me.
  4. If card quality is high, then there should be lots of 10s on the market. There shouldnt be a bunch of 9's and 9.5s if thats the case since if there isnt any imperfections, there is no reason to artificially downgrade cards. Lots of the japanese cards have zero issues since they have the card production almost down to the science, yet theres tons of japanese cards that arent perfect 10s. Same could be said with certain US sets. Ive done mass box openings on some of the recent sword & shield sets and some of them have no quality control issues, so not to give out 9.5's or 10s on new cards with no factory issues, doesnt make any sense. I'm already starting to notice inconsistencies in some of the cards I been graded. That is grading in general though, its all subjective and CGC isnt any different. What makes me not like the CGC/BGS system is that when its on a 9.5 scale (since the 10 is non-existant for the most part), the cards naturally get graded lower. I end up with lots of 8's and 8.5s when with SGC or PSA, i would have more 9's since they use the 1-10 scale. At the end of the day, I just care what the number is since thats what the market cares about. People sadly buy the label. But its not much dfiferent than buying luxury goods. People dont buy rolls royce or louis vuitton because its the best quality. They buy it since its a status symbol. And PSA, even with their crappy slabs, is a status thing. So Im not really incentivized to grade with a company that realistically, just has a different methology really. They care alot about centering while the rest of the companies dont. And the secondary market doesnt care that CGC cares about centering, so theres that.
  5. Isnt "strict grading" just a devaluation of your assets? Its not a roast man. Its an opinion about the condition of your card that your needing for resell. I dont get this mentality anymore since at first I kind of thought it made sense, but after getting multiple 8.5's and 9's for no real reason, its just as subjective as any other company with their methology. Even when asked CGC of how their methology works, they say they use an algorithm that isnt public information. Lol like really? A made up algorithm that has no clear explanation. I dont even know where to start with that since they might as well just say "yeah we just make stuff up as we go along". Ive had alot of 9's that could easily gotten 10s with PSA. Nothing really wrong with them. 9 vs 9.5 vs 10 just all come down to how the grader was feeling that day. Its the same standards as BGS and BGS always sells less than PSA except for the perfect 10's/pristine 10s that rarely are given out. But even the 10s, they dont look very different than alot of other cards. A 9 or a 9.5 can easily be a 10. To me it just feels like a marketing gimmick to get people to grade here thinking they will get some magical 10 but 90 something percent of the time, you will get a 9.5 or a 9 no matter how perfect the card is.
  6. I just see price increases happening, which isnt the worst thing ever but limiting what year you can grade would be better. There basically was an unofficial price increase. If you send in bulk, its basically not coming back for a year if it was sent in after late January/February at the rate they are working on that tier, but if you pay $20 for standard (with membership) then it comes back within a month or two. I just wish CGC just announced a price increase but instead we get this passive aggressive business behavior that IMO is extremely weak. I had to upgrade to standard to get my orders out from them. Wasnt thrilled since I sent in some new stuff that I probably shouldnt have but didnt think bulk would end up being almost a year TAT. I probably will lose money on it and its my mistake, but just annoying never the less. But I agree too that new stuff shouldnt be slabbed so quickly. We are heading into an era of junk slabs in that in the long term, the saturation of slabs is going to flood the market. Ive stopped grading anything thats before Black & White for this reason. Even the new stuff I graded was mostly left overs from packs that I had that I couldnt sell very easily, but Ill just open less packs and sell sealed or buylist my left overs. All my modern slabs are just going to get dumped on the auction house since its just a matter of when they will crash. Not how but when and my prediction is probably in early 2022 when the hype for Pokemon finally dies off with the 25th anniversary coming and going.
  7. They probably need to cut off recent years from grading. For sports, at least 5 years. These rookies need to prove themselves in their leagues. As good as Luka and Zion look, it just takes one bad injury and they are next Greg Oden. Imagine if everyone was grading Greg Odon or Johnny Menzel the way they are grading these new players LOL. For Pokemon, anything that is standard legal should not be allowed to be graded, so the last 2 years worth of cards should be cut out. Cards should have to rotate out of standard gameplay before they can be sent in. Grading sets that are not even a month old is getting ridiculous. Stacks of Shining Fates cards that are not even a few months old and are sub 5 dollars continue to flood and jam up the system. If people wanna grade whatever, then they would pay a premium for newer cards. If not then they have to wait. It seems like common sense but it seems like most companies are just not seeing it for some reason.
  8. Lol, 4 ignored comments probably about talking about me and ignoring the issues that CGC is having. Not a good look Paul. When are the grown ups going to take out the trash? Or is everything my fault somehow lol? Im sure Ill get banned again for no reason while the trolls continue to do this to anyone who has an issue with their order. On this board, everything is the customers fault and the hardcore fans are perfect angels that never do wrong. I really dont get why these forums exist if they are just going to show case how childish CGC's customer base is since again, it looks terrible and benefits nobody except those who wanna relive like they are kids in middle school.
  9. Lol and this company thinks its trying to run a business. Maybe they should stick to lemonade stands since I dont see any adults in the room.
  10. No, your not being remotely reasonable. Your acting extremely inappropriate. I have a reasonable complaint that Im trying to talk about with an employee at the company yet your coming here acting like a manager telling me to screw off when you have zero authority whatsoever. Its embarrassing that Paul is even allowing this and this is a good reason too why Im not coming back to CGC since the culture is very reflective in its superfans. Childish behavior runs rampant on these forums while work at the company is not getting done and mods are on here wasting their time dealing with this. I cant be the only one who thinks this is backwards. Welcome to the block list. No point in trying to have a conversation with someone who refuses to listen and just keeps talking over me. I dont know on what planet you think your defending CGC well but your just digging the hole deeper and im not interested in talking to you future.
  11. How am I trashing CGC? Im not telling them to do anything. Im just telling them how I feel. Its a free country. If you dont like it then maybe you should be the one who leaves. And Im not threatening anything. I dont want to submit to a company that tells me one thing and then does another after I gave them money. Maybe your ok with that kind of service but im not. Blaming the customer yet continuing to not solve your problems seems to be a theme here. This is a business. You can blame me forever, but thats not going to fix TAT's or improve the service. You can ban me, talk poorly about me, make your little high school jokes about me until the end of time, but that doesnt change that CGC is not doing a great job with how they are handling TAT's. Blaming me or any customer doesnt change reality.
  12. All the orders pre-february 17th were prepaid on. They are sitting at CGC not being worked on. They moved from early December to mid December on bulk in an entire month. I dont know how your going to keep defending this since its just poor business practices. You cant keep changing estimates to unrealistic times and think its ok. It doesnt matter what the actual circumstances are. There just comes a point to where CGC is at fault. People paid money to get their cards back at a reasonable amount of time. Half a year isnt very reasonable. And not even a "yeah we are sorry" is just like a big middle finger to everyone. Regardless, I dont know if your an employee or a superfan or what your problem is, but the fact that Paul tolerates this type of behavior on his boards, yeah your looking at some awful business relations in your future. Telling people to screw off because their service was delayed half a year without any form of compensation or at least acknowledgment of it being an issue, yeah thats extremely bad business and any potential graders in the future are going to read this and think poorly of this company. And I dont want people to think poorly of CGC, but with this kind of childish culture, what else is there to think? The company is having issues, they arent doing anything about it, its superfans are attacking anyone with a problem, you tell me how this is good business.
  13. Ok first off Don your acting very inappropriate. Your on a moderated board and you keep telling CGC's own customers to go away. I dont know when you thought you became CEO of the company or think your some kind of decision maker, but your not. I have a legit concern and I dont know why you keep dismissing it. Second, an estimate has to be appropriate. Giving out a 30 day estimate and changing it to 144 days is not appropriate. Do you really think going from 30 to 144 is acceptable? I dont see how it is. Thats a huge different in time frame, as in we are talking almost half a year difference in time. And my orders were PREPAID. That is what makes it worse, even though I paid to have most of my orders upgraded since im not waiting half a year for my cards back. Finally, regardless of whos fault it is, the changing in TAT's LOOKS BAD. It just looks like CGC has no idea what they are doing. Maybe they have something going on behind the scenes like some secret algorithm through the OC3 optical lines that will fix the TAT's, I have no clue, but regardless, changing the TAT's consistently to very length amounts of time feels bad. It doesnt make me want to come back. It looks like CGC is disorganized and is taking peoples money and not doing anything. Again, that is what it LOOKS like. Nobody knows what is really happening since communication isnt very good. Regardless, yeah I mean going from 1 month to half a year in bulk, like at some point you have to take some accountability for a huge change like that. You cant keep blaming the customers forever.
  14. Is this a reflection of CGC's culture? "Sorry but we cant keep promises and dont want to accept any responsibility, so go away bye". Lol what a joke. You cant be serious if you think thats appropriate way of doing business.
  15. Ya know Paul I been defending you guys for a while but this is getting kind of unbelievable. You cant say that 30 was your best estimate and now 144 is your best estimate. You dont think that makes no sense? Its literally a 100 day difference. Your "best" estimate was pretty way off. And I get the jargon at this point. "Nothing guaranteed", "Estimate that that time", "We have too many orders", "We are hiring more people and getting a bigger building" etc etc. But these are not very good excuses. You keep neglecting the bulk and finding reasons to not take responsibility. At one point is it not going to be the customers fault? Im just saying it right now that your either going to have an even more ridiculous TAT or your going to shut down at some point. A credit would be nice but at this point, I dont expect anything except more excuses. Id like to do business with CGC in the future but right now, this is not a very good look. Regardless if its your company'ys fault or the industry's norms or whatever, the lack of acknowledgment of the problem just looks very bad. Sorry man but I probably wont submit again unless things are taken control of. It just looks amateurish from my PoV of the handling of the bulk.
  16. theres some sane people on here like yourself and im not going to let them stop me from voicing my opinion. cgc is just bgs 2.0 but cares too much about centering. bgs is prob less strict on centering. im not sending anything else in at this point. ill prob wait for psa to reopen or sgc to lower their prices or wait for hga to add non sports. cgc was good at first but they just let the good press get to their heads and now they dont care. its also ironic that people say they are the psa of comics. i guess thats not far off since they have similar issues. stuff gets damaged in transit, inconsistent grading, takes forever, bad customer support, etc. if im going to grade for resale and getting lipservice no matter what, i guess ill take whoever gives the best return on investment at this point...
  17. Its funny on social media how everyone was bashing PSA and SGC for the decisions they made to kill all bulk submissions but it was the best decisions they could have made. I feel bad for anyone who is submitting bulk right now since its on track to not return by the end of this year. And whats crazy is how CGC is only on MID December in April. This means they will probably finish January by July/August, maybe. I basically had to pay extra for my mid January submissions and February ones since Id be waiting all year for my stuff to return.. Since they keep taking stacks of bulk shining legends and tons of standard orders, ithe TAT's are just going to get worse than PSA, which I didnt think was humanly possible. I didnt think a company that only handles magic, pokemon and comics could have longer TAT's than companies that grade almost anything. As soon as the PSA shutdown happened and CGC chose to ignore it, I knew grading here was just over. I have a few left over cards that I could send in for standard but Ill just wait at this point to go somewhere else. It sucks since CGC started off great and I thought that they could have taken my business long term from PSA. Maybe some day they will get it together like how SGC did, but right now, yeah forget it. The TAT's that produce less value than PSA just kills it for me. I can legit see 200+ TAT's at this point if a shutdown doesnt happen first. I just wonder at this point if CGC has the pride to at least say at a point "yeah, we cant handle this" since Id be more willing to come back if they can face the reality that nobody in this industry can scale this massive demand. Nothing CGC has going on can outscale any company, so I dont know if at this point what they are doing since im just baffled.
  18. Id still use usps over fedex. Fedex breaks stuff and damages packages more often. And they cost more. They are faster but thats about it. UPS is best for anything bulky and best overall except price on anything under a pound. I use usps with tracking and it works for anything cheap. Larger stuff its always ups for me.
  19. Lol is that a joke? Who has been selling online and NOT reporting their taxes? Its almost like they want the IRS at their doorstop....
  20. How is it a ridiculous suggestion when all their competitors who have been doing this for 2-3 decades longer have stopped taking bulk? Here we have a company that has a service that has not existed for a year, yet it thinks it can handle its business better than other major players who have been around forever. I just dont see how that makes any sense. I have a 12/30 order thats going nowhere. I expect it back probably in May, maybe June the latest. Thats around 5-6 months TAT. I get the whole guestimation thing, but going from 25-30 days to 55 to 70 something to 110, to 144, to probably 200 at some point, its kind of a bad look. At first I gave CGC some time to get new workers and figure things out, but when your competitors shut down and your getting their entire market share with your workforce that is a fraction of the size, yeah Im starting to think they are legit making bad choiecs at this point. The math at this point doesnt add up and someone has screwed up.
  21. Fedex is the most expensive out of the 3 major couriers. Why should I have to pay more for them to get their job done right lol? Even with a discount, I pay more for Fedex than UPS and USPS. Plus Fedex has the worst service out of the 3. It seems like its 50/50 at this point if your walkthrough or express gets logged in correctly. Ive sent in 2 walkthroughs in the past. One took a month to get back, while another one took a week. I wouldnt do it again since its just too inconsistent of a service.
  22. Ya know Ive defended CGC quite a bit in the beginning trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, but now with these TAT's on bulk continuously making the service unusable, I really do think they have to take some sort of responsibility at some point. They cant keep taking bulk and neglecting it completely since that seems to be the trend now. If I decide to use them again (and thats a big if at this point), Id never use the bulk again. I had to pay to cut the line while my 12/30 bulk submission probably wont return for another month or so. 5 months TAT is just bad. If this was PSA, yeah at least the resale values make up for it, but this isnt PSA. This is the new kid to the block. Their resale values are going to be on par with BGS and BGS has proven for years that its not close to PSA, so at this point, CGC is just becoming BGS 2.0, which is nothing to write home about. There is a very easy simple solution to this, which is not what people want to hear but it at this point, there is not any solution to make everyone happy, and that is to stop taking bulk. I feel its kind of arrogance on CGC's part at this point to think they can handle the bulk. They just cant do it. PSA cant do it, SGC cant do it and im sure BGS will stop taking bulk at this point. If companies who have been around for 20+ years cant do it, then there is no universe that CGC can do it. Its not possible to scale. Hiring 70 employees and thinking that in a few months they can turn it around is just living in a dream world at this point. The business of card grading isnt really scalable since finding skilled graders who will take whatever salary they are offering to work in Sarasota (a retirement town) isnt possible. TAT's for bulk and economy are on track to be 7-8 months at the rate we are going. Maybe even longer. They are still stuck all the way back in mid December and its April. They keep taking more standard and higher tiers. Even if its not CGC's fault all of this, it just makes them look bad. And the lack of any sort of small compensation (like a 50 dollar voucher or literally anything at this point), it just makes me not want to come back unless they really turn things around.
  23. To be fair, I can see why they havent done it and its because they just have no time to do it. I dont see how they are going to handle the massive incoming card volume as it is. Either TAT's or prices are going to change, yet no word on that yet even though its going to happen very soon if it hasnt happened already. At the same time, why cgc employees are on here or on social media wasting time instead of doing work is another question. Not saying they need to work 24/7, but as a business owner, I wouldnt be wasting my time on the internet. If I had tons of work to work on, I wouldnt be ignoring it so I can gab on a message board it. Alot of companies seem to have this issue now a days to where they think their image on the internet matters when in the real world, nobody actually cares. I have social media pages for my business and I barely update them since my customers dont really care about them. I have no clue why there is a CGC forum in the first place. Maybe a modded only section would be ok, but I dont see how its a good usage of resources. If they killed this board tomorrow and got the mods into the mail room, that would be a huge improvement to their backlog situation. Its a free country and CGC can do whatever they want, but if it was me, Id probably be doing that.
  24. Back to the issues with CGC before this sideshow came along lol.... Apparently Paul thinks its more important talking to these crazy people than being in the mail room getting actual business done or doing something productive sides moderating a bunch of children. Forget it, this is exactly why Im done with CGC. The culture is childish and its going to show as months go on as people realize this company has its priorities backwards. Like why does this place even have forums? There are tons of people lining up to grade, why is this company so concurred with internet noise over actually getting work done? If I was them, Id kill the forums and give out social media and email for customer support. This cesspool has no real purpose other than being a distraction to business. Also, if Paul is a grader, WHY IS HE DOING CUSTOMER SUPPORT? This whole "its his passion" is bogus. Im a business owner and I dont handle customer support since im an owner and owners dont wear tons of hats. Thats what you delegate for. And as a business owner, I realy dont like telling places how to run things since I know thats obnoxious and nobody wants to hear it. But at the same time, CGC is about to hit with some real problems and they just shrug their shoulders like its nothing. Before the PSA shutdown, I had some faith they would get it together, but now thats a major red flag. And maybe someday I will come back to CGC if things improve since I dont like to completely dismiss anything in life, but right now it just seems like the boat has sailed and its going to be a long time before this company adapts to whats going on.
  25. LOL so your racist too I take it. Apparently, saying "keeping it 100%" is not ok, thats not white washing or anything like that. If im not speaking your form of english, something is wrong with me. Yeah, thats really not ok with me but then again this site allows people hating on the disabled so no surprise the characters on here. Welcome to the ignore list. I have no patience for people who cant hold a conversation like a sane human being .Yeah, you stay here the rest of your life and get out of the real world so we dont have to ever come in contact with you. It will be a blessing to society.
