  1. I will continue sending books in but the fact that errors they commit aren't fixed first drives me nuts. Maybe stop announcing new signings and get stuff caught up?
  2. Just got this reply Doesnt really seem acceptable. "The Mechanical Error service is currently experiencing delays due to the recent overwhelming number of Mechanical Error submissions submitted that do not qualify for the service. Unfortunately, this has also delayed Mechanical Error submissions that do qualify for the service."
  3. Just seems a little crazy for errors to not be pushed to the front of the line. This is an avengers 57 signed by roy thomas that they labeled signed by steranko. Pretty quickly can switch that label out.
  4. Is it just me or should mechanical errors be fixed faster? I currently have a book up at cgc that they mislabeled, sent it back immediately and has now been up there 2 months. Its been open and in the system for a month with no movement. Seems a little funny that they reduced the amount of days to re-sub for a mech error but they drag feet to fix them.
  5. Here are pictures. My presser did a good job getting the spine roll fixed as well.
  6. Perhaps. I will have to get another picture of it tonight, my hand is covering that part. the spine split stopped there. The book otherwise is in very nice shape.
  7. I will post some pictures when they get back. My preaswr does really good work.
  8. After a nice press and clean this book is coming home a 4.0!
  9. The grade is in! After a press and clean from my presser this book is coming home a 3.0!
  10. I'm going 3.0. is that top staple replaced? Seems like a weird placement.
  11. Thanks for your opinions everyone. That darn spine split! I just picked it up for 250 at an estate sale so anywhere from a 2.0-3.0 and I got a pretty good deal.
  12. I want to say 4.0-5.0 because of that tear on the bottom.
  13. I will get better pictures tonight but the main flaw on this one is the spine split that wraps around the back slightly. It presents amazing, glossy cover and really clean, the bottom split is its big issue. Also the entire piece seems to be there so I may have my presser hold it in place with a small piece of book tape since cgc doesnt ding you for that anymore and it would present nicer.
  14. Yep it's a little cut from someone. Thanks. I'd be happy with a 1.0 and up.
  15. I kind of figured it'd be a .5 or 1.0 but it is complete so hope atleast a 1.0.
  16. Anyone have experience with a tear this major? All there but goes thru multiple pages.
  17. Thanks everyone. I'm not really sure if it would get a bump regardless just due to the splits, it would clean up though. Its an FF 49 that I am keeping in my collection so was just curious if anyone thought it might be something that could get a bump.
  18. If this has been brought up please delete this but does anyone know what constitutes as moderate spine splits? I bought this slab a few weeks ago and getting it in I can tell it could really benefit from a clean and press but depending on the splits it may not get much higher. Its currently a 3.0 for the record. Here are the notes.
  19. On a book like this he did a percentage of fmv. I'm not really sure what grade he went with but felt like his price was fair. I had him ship it in for me as well because he has the higher membership with a discount. Total it was about $350 and the grading alone from cgc was around 250 dollars so with shipping with insurance, cleaning/pressing/whitening, packing and grading I felt like that was pretty fair for this book.
