  1. Well, this thread has some legs. Pretty sure I've posted this in another thread - lost in the mists of time. Appeared in the "Australian Women's Weekly". I think this may have been an American news item reprinted in Oz.
  2. September 1972 article in an Australian newspaper. John Ryan was well known in collecting circles, wrote a book "Panel by Panel" about Australian funnybooks and died way too young.
  3. Tiny Tot Comics was a very early E.C. title. "Your First Comic Book".
  4. Fellow in the picture is the artist closely associated with Red Sonja, Frank Thorne.
  5. Same user name. Is there any way to recover content posted? I've tried the usual suspects, but still nada.
  6. Always thought "Baby Weems" was the inspiration for "Baby Herman" in "Who Framed Roger Rabbit". That aside, very nice book.
  7. Grant Adey. No longer involved with Halo but still has a comic shop in Brisbane (last I heard).
  8. Wait a minute here - stay in your lane please! Kidding. Great books, Marvel Mystery 41 is a stand out and this Silver Flash is in astonishingly good condition.
  9. I have never seen this comic. I think you're right regarding rebound remaindered copies - no indicia and the fact VERY few comics here were printed in colour - except for Disneys. "I Aim at the Stars", Werner von Braun's biopic, quite accurately had a tag added during production as "But sometimes I hit London"
  10. I think I've posted this before. Oz version, page or two short of the original when reprinted:
  11. What a lot of GREAT junk. Looks like a fun outing.
  12. Book's a Golden Records Reprint too.
  13. The thing is, southern cross's books came to him, at the LCS. Unexamined/unsorted. What's the likelihood that a store's stock is similarly unchecked?
  14. Good Luck! My guess? Scores of British Commando Comics, Battle Picture Library and War Picture Library.
  15. "Pop's Vacation" appeared in The Kilroys #25. Where did you get #27 from? Oh, and GCD does not show that that story has been reprinted anywhere. I am leaning towards your book being rebound "leftovers". The Hopalong Cassidy book had a Canadian version.
  16. This "hobby" has now reached peak stupid.
  17. Harley has been attending Australian conventions since 1992. The last time I saw him was 2014 at Supanova in Sydney - the Stan Lee appearance.

Do the three little pigs really have a leg of ham "cooling" in the window?

Ha ha ha. This cover is just phoned in. No wonder Ken Baker didn't want it.
  20. I've been looking at this cover for a while. Every character overjoyed that VE day is here at last. Except for Minnie Mouse. She looks pie-eyed by comparison. Mickey is displaying the standard Churchill "V for Victory" signs via his fingers. Minnie is too - on her right hand. Her left hand seems to be an early version of "hang loose". I think Minnie's been drinking. Maybe Mickey will get lucky . . .
