This is so cool! I'd be very tempted to leave this raw and display the cover open on the wall if it were mine. Very cool!

I will be enlarging a pic of the spread and adding font if need be for a framing at some point as I do share your sentiment ;¤)

ps.... but is always nice 2 have the original in a well kept environment.

  2. One of my newest additions, Sergio Cariello (9.6)

I do have a few more to show off but my scanner is dead, so I guess it'll have to wait. These phone taken pics don't do any justice to the pieces :sorry:

    Beauty bro!

    :-)

Thanks man (thumbs u I got the scanner working so why don't I post this Venom in good quality

  3. Time to :bump: this thread with a few books I just back from the Dallas Comicon. Thanks to DWC for making these happen! This was the first show I have done SS books at, and DWC made the process very easy!

    ASM254CGCss.jpg

Amazing Spider-man #254 signed by Rick Leonardi.

Not sure how this got a 9.2 as it looks better than some 9.6s I have, but at least this has the distinction of lowest graded copy out of 8 on the census.

    ASM282CGCss.jpg

Amazing Spider-man #282 signed by Rick Leonardi.

Alone as second-highest SS copy out of 4 total on the census.

    ASM290CGCss.jpg

Amazing Spider-man #290 signed by John Romita Jr.

Tied with one other copy for highest graded SS, with only 4 SS on the census.

    Nice books bro!

Never did manage to snag up a RL SS book as of yet!

  4. Peep this, kinda of sad that it got a 9.2.

    Ya know what bud????

    Forget the 9.2

Grades mean mess on sentimental books.

From the Spidey in the top left corner to the Spidey in the bottom left corner where the UPC would be if it was a NEWSTAND edition, EVERYTHING BUT the actual title itself is BLACK & WHITE, WHICH is KILLER!!!!!!!!

    I love the book!!!!!!

  5. If the seller were to look at the responses in this thread, I think it would motivate him to sell it at the $80,000 price being offered. ;)

assuming the 80k bid is "real". :gossip:

I question alot of bids I see.

If you go to comic link right now and run a search on Amazing spider-man 226 cgc 9.8.

You have 1 copy with a misrap that a seller wants $528.00USD for & to top it off we have a bid at $375.00USD.

Secondly we have another copy with pretty much perfect centering, but with OW/W pages at $60.00USD for the Sell price. Not a bid on it.

Now wouldn't the guy that bid 375USD on the 1st copy just buy the one for $60???

Some things just blow me away. Now I don't think that's the site involved in any way whatsoever. But the person that consigned the 1st copy could very well have a friend jamming in a pretty hard and ridiculous bid to entice some dummy to pay alot more and create a bidding war.

Maybe this is the same scenario. Maybe not.

    Time will tell I guess.

Love the spider sketch placement on this one (thumbs u

Yeah I like the placement on that too Steve man. Can't replace my

ASM#255-CGC-9.9 that I sold but what could? lol

That was my favorite book of all time. Old label. May have hit a 10.0 if resubbed it was flawless. Although who's gonna start cracking ASM 200-300 9.9's for resubs? lol

Let's see some more spidey books and Sketches fellows!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;-) :baiting:

  7. Well it's been what ahhhhh ...... TWO MONTHS SINCE LAST POST?!?!?!?

    EEEEEPPPPSSS

Figured as I don't have books in hand but Fred was nice enough to send me images as the good people at CGC have finished grading the 17 ASM books I subbed through Fred for the Rubinstein opportunity and as this thread desperately needed a bump it was time to post something.

    I'll post my bummers first.

    2nd ASM#271 CGC 9.8 Cracked - & - 2nd CGC 9.6 on return ;-(

& as a Hobgoblin Fan as my fav Villain this one killed me too....

    72680dba.jpg

and the 1st appearance of PUMA .... needless to say the 3 books that dropped were major BUMMERS ;-(

    0a79e2f8.jpg

NOW ON TO THE GOOD OF THE LOT ... .14 of 17 did maintain a 9.8 with no 9.4's or anything lower so all in all a fairly good cracking and signing considering Joe took awhile to get it done, he added a small spider-sketch on each for me which adds to the rareness of my overall collection as I try to pull the entire run from 201-300 all in 9.8 SS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very happy that the BIGGER Registry point value books hit home such as ASM258/259/260 and a few others like 265.

Good opp all in all and will have 2 sketches to show when I receive sketch images for them in the actual slab as well as books that I received a few months ago from Sean - NY COMICS such as ASM201/202/208/209/220/224/243

244/248/249 & 251 all in CGC SS 9.8 when I get scans of them up as my scanner is down currently. 5 of them are Stan Lee's with the remaining by JRJR.
