With regard to Barry not knowing his grandmother's maiden name... I do think we have to take into account that his mother was killed when he was 8 and his dad was in jail for it. It may not have come up in casual conversation on the jail phone with his dad.

This is correct- this is a good terrigen bomb replacement that gives them the chance to add more powered people to the show and give fodder for Skye's new initiative. Also, and I haven't finished reading back to see if this was mentioned or not, but it seems like Simmons is an inhuman. The rock thing didn't react around regular people but did the goopy thing around Inhumans. So it reacting to her surely indicates she is. That'll cause an interesting conflict for the character since she's been so "anti alien." Between this and the Ward arc, I'm REALLY excited about S03.

It's totally unlike episodic network tv imho, which is basically a 4-act-play format. Daredevil presents more like it was conceived, written and shot as a "Graphic Novel" comprised of 13 chapters. Every frame advanced the story. To me Daredevil felt like experiencing something both new and better. Emphasis on 'Better'. A 13-hour-movie format for comic book storytelling. A near perfect medium for live-action comic book arcs. Anyone else thinking the Netflix "season-at-once" format is the best medium for live-action comic book storytelling so far? I think this format is the obvious ideal platform for serialized storytelling. Especially with the latitude to use starting and ending beats that aren't traditional, but that encourage binge-watching. I also noticed two things: 1. It's actually gone UP on Rotten Tomatoes since release. This is true for BOTH audience and critic reviews. (Usually, even with great content, the numbers go down.) 2. Netflix got a nice stock upgrade on Friday. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that's not coincidence. (I'm not saying it's the only reason, mind you. But this is a strong potential partnership like you've alluded to.) It's an exciting time to be a nerd. Marvel is really king of the hill. It's interesting, because they basically followed the format/structure of their comics to achieve it. (Both from a story perspective, but more importantly in how the comics were released and associated synergy.) I think it's ironic that WBs big failing has been in that department, especially considering they own the company that publishes those comics. Definitely a case of hands not talking to each other.

I just got done with Episode 2 and that was truly incredible. I was worried my expectations for this show were too high. I now think they could've been higher and I'd still have been pleasantly surprised. It's really compelling.

WOW I'm like 15 minutes in... decided to do a quick preview before heading to bed. (Gotta rest up for the 13 episode marathon tomorrow.) All I'll say is this- they made a tv show. And I didn't realize just how much the other superhero shows I've been watching don't exactly qualify as tv shows until I saw this. I'm not even sure how to quantify the difference. I'm excited. It's going to be REALLY hard to sleep.

What flavor of future Flash stabs folks in the abdomen and encourages metahumans to kill folks for him? He's DEFINITELY the Reverse Flash, but WHICH one remains to be clarified. More than likely he's some sort of retcon amalgam so that fledgling fans can follow along without being utterly confused. Let's face it, the Reverse Flashes have a VERY convoluted history (and future). The problem is, he's likeable on some level. I keep wanting to like him.Maybe we will find out that the guy he stabbed would have killed many others in the future. he stabbed that guy because he was still angry over the bowling alley that he sold to him

I got an NES and a SNES for Christmas and LOVE them. Here's a good FAQ for ya: 1. 72-pin is the amount of little teeth the nes uses to cling onto the junk sticking out of the cartridges. Sometimes these get really dirty and the NES works better if replaced. That might be why you're seeing it mentioned in ads. 2. If possible, buy a bundle. You'll get a better deal with NES + games. 3. Make sure anything you buy said "tested and works" or something to that effect. 4. If a cartridge doesn't work, don't sweat it. Clean the pins on the bottom with a q-tip and a little rubbing alcohol. Usually they work great after that. 5. **Very Important** Light gun doesn't work on a flatscreen and games look bad on them too. I spent $15 for a CRT tv off Craigslist and my gaming experience has been WONDERFUL. Yes it's heavy, but the scanlines are wonderful to see too! Alternatives: -Retron 5 system plays most games from NES, SNES, Genesis, etc. Downside is the software is technically emulation (just like on PC) so every once in a blue moon you'll see carts that don't play sound properly, etc. Also doesn't have the vintage vibe. -WiiU (and Wii) have the old games on their app store. Again, won't look as awesome as an original on an old school tv, but is definitely price friendlier. Feel free to PM me anytime to talk gaming or ask questions. I'm super into "retro" gaming. Nintendo is at the very top right now when it comes to games. Super Smash Bros., Bayonetta 2, Mario Kart 8, DK Tropical Freeze, Hyrule Warriors, all this year, have all been praised. I actually just bought a Wii U because of the quality of games that have come out. Right now is the perfect time to buy a Wii U. In my opinion, at least at this very moment, Xbox and Playstation can't touch Nintendo when it comes to exclusive games Funny you mention that... I went out to Toys R Us just to get an overall view of what is out there. The Nintendo Wii U was tempting. I think people avoided the Wii U at release because it was "underpowered" and didn't feel "next gen" enough. Problem is... I think that's true for all 3 systems (WiiU, XBone, PS4.) As such, Wii U might end up having the best overall catalog. Not gonna lie- I've been tempted to get one too. But right now my PC is acting as my high-end rig and an NES is handling my retro needs. So we'll see...

I think if people knew the Garfield Spider-Man movie was more based on the Ultimate Spider-Man, then the venom would have been less from the critics. The give away should have been the Paul Giamatti Rhino. The Paul Giamatti Rhino is real close to the Ultimate Spider-Man Rhino, but people were shocked that it wasn`t the John Romita classic version. I'm going to respectfully disagree here on several fronts. 1. A re-title wouldn't matter to the general audience at large because more than half probably haven't read a comic either way. 2. Among fans that have read comics, I don't think the expectation is for a modern comic movie to be based on a single source. I think the expectation is we're going to get the "best" possible version of whatever we're seeing. ASM failed to deliver that. 3. By all counts is was a bad movie. So the critics would naturally be critical also. I will agree with your points 1 and 2. (thumbs u Sorry I can`t agree with your point 3 because I enjoyed the movie. That's fair- I wasn't trying to call out anyone's taste in movies.
