Returning from a girl's night out, Barbara Gordon (Oracle) grills Dinah Lance (Black Canary) on her dating life with Dr. Mid-Nite as they arrive at Dinah's apartment. A page of refined realism from the drafting hand of Butch Guice. Ink over graphite on DC Bristol board with an image area of 9" x 14". 3. https://www.ebay.com/itm/285519139813 Beautiful 'Birth Page' of a Legendary Relationship. Birds of Prey #28 page 9 Jackson 'Butch' Guice Pencils/Inks 2001 From DC - Literally the page where the identities are revealed: Now, Black Canary finally meets Oracle in person at the Clock Tower, and the two women get to know each other over coffee better face to face. Dinah even learns that she has worked with Oracle before, back when she was still Batgirl. Going outside, the two discuss private things like Dinah dating Dr. Mid-Nite and they also foil a hapless mugger who chooses the wrong pair of women to pick on - he ends up without his gun and without trousers after Dinah and Barbara are finished with him.
  4. yikes, the Intl' auctions carry a 25% vig for the buyer - not the 'usual' 20%

  7. This whole site appears to be the same... Ross Andru and Bill Everett Marvel Super-Heroes #14 Story Page 14 Original Art (Marvel, 1968) https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/story-page/ross-andru-and-bill-everett-marvel-super-heroes-14-story-page-14-original-art-marvel-1968-/a/7279-95033.s?ic4=GalleryView-ShortDescription-071515 couldn't hit 20K pre the juice in Sept, but somehow in 7-8 months its now 'only' ...... https://www.panelpageart.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=3303 35K
  8. For what its worth since a few have asked, I'll trade this (and the mag/pic framed too) for a 'Lesser' (sounds so wrong) artist Marvel 2x Title page - Think in the vein of Powell, Adkins, Ayers.. *Hope I'm allowed to say that here, was not posted looking to sell but people are asking - will delete post if advised
  9. How about some OLD Cover Art? And I mean o-l-d! Phenomenal Female Artist Pinup Zoe Mozert painted this image of actress Loretta Young for the April 1939 Cover of Romantic Stories Magazine - Pic one is the Painting Pic two is the Magazine Cover Pic three is the Artist Zoe Mozert reflecting on this painting with Loretta Young's co-star in the movie, Errol Flynn NOTE: The painting is still in the frame in the photo, but I added Museum glass about 15 or 20 years back She became famous for her movie star magazine covers and over the years cranked out a ton of similar looking paintings for direct sale - THIS ONE is one of the published covers from her Peak Period right before jumping into Calendar work at Brown and Bigelow. This one offers an innocence the more common ones frankly lack.
  10. In fairness, Mike is correct.... Mike I just sent a PM
  11. to clarify - all of my best pieces including this one - came from other collectors one on one. But thx for the kind words -
  12. Yep - been silent on this one as it took a few twists and turns from what I originally posted - I'm looking for a trade. AND venting about the comments I got directly. MikeB you'd like some feedback? Well for those - like yourself - defending the dealers' right to earn a living - that was not my point and not contested. The dealer's did not ask what i had in trade. My original person_without_enough_empathying and moaning was because I miss the fist-class treatment (think Mitch I, Conrad E, etc) that was the norm, for much less expensive product. Fisch - yeah sometimes you need to add a bit extra to your four quarters for that dollar bill - pretty naïve though on your part to think it impossible to happen. And lastly MikeB - the reason I have been successful is that I am private. Do I really need to provide references to you? In the last year I've traded/sold/bought (with some $$) from many of the guys on this board. I'll attach one from a recent 4 quarters for a dollar trade. Cover to MK14 - "Stained Glass Scarlet" - 100% Bill S - sorry for the crappy photo Mess
  13. For 30 years I've built a nice little collection on the back of trading. And before this gets taken out of context, I mean 'fair' trading. With well over 50 or so trades, only one was sour, and I 'undid' that one. Good karma and all that. Short version is, I'm looking for a Twice Up Marvel Splash, Full Page, Kirby pencils (not layouts). What I am looking to trade? Other Kirby Art, A+ type stuff (including a bronze Marvel Splash). Good stuff. Here are the responses from three Dealers when approached w the idea - keep in mind they had not seen or asked what I had in trade, they only knew what I was inquiring about. 1) "I'll trade but it has to be WAY in my favor. WAY in my favor" 2) "I'll trade but I can't pay you market price, I need room to make some money" 3) "If I trade you art, I need to raise the value of my art before we begin to cover myself" Good lord. If there is anyone out there left who would like to discuss a trade for your 2X Marvel Kirby Splash page for my 'other' Kirby (trade enough so we are both satisfied) If so - hit me up via PM here - I get concentration - you get diversification (sell one of the two or three and keep the others etc) Lastly, for those about to ask, sorry but I am very private and won't be posting anything anyone emails me to look at, or what I have in return. Just wanted to step out of the shadows for a moment to vent some frustration and make a general appeal to you guys LMK Mess
