  1. Unfortunately, I have no idea about the authenticity of your book. As far as I’m concerned (and I’m no expert) it’s real. You asked for options on grading a previously signed book. I was just trying to answer the question whether CGC would verify such a book. The short answer is, other grading vendors might validate it, but CGC won’t.
  2. What initially drew me to the thread was a curiosity about why a signed book is not verified by CGC. Ultimately, your example validates the reasoning that signatures can be faked or more importantly that they change over time making verification extremely difficult. If they see the talent personally sign the materials, then there is absolutely no ambiguity when validating it. Makes perfect sense. I appreciate your response and the answer to the burning question of which signatures were verified. I was running out of popcorn.
  3. Hi all - Last tonight is ASM #136. First appearance of Harry Osborn as Green Goblin Lite. 1/2 the calories, but all of the psychotic break. A few issues with this book, notably the FC and pages appear to have travelled on the bottom of the book, but not the top, leaving the book skewed. Can a press fix this? And you might notice the Distributor Ink overspray on both covers. Give a guy a rattle can...sheesh. I mean, like, chill out Banksy! Thanks, friends!
  4. Hi all - Second tonight is ASM #134. The first appearance of the Tarantula. A couple of color breaking spine creases, rolled edge, corners are solid but could use a press. Book is complete. Thanks for taking the time...
  5. Hi all - The first offering tonight is ASM #130. Hammerhead and the Spidermobile. Not exactly a juggernaut of a follow up to the previous issue. But hey, every song isn’t an A-side, so... Another fresh book, no significant issues except the stain in the upper left corner of the BC. Thanks!
  6. Give it to me, of course! Assuming that didn’t work... CGC requires signatures be witnessed by them. So you would not qualify for a Signature Series. Instead I believe that you would get the 'name written on cover' kind of qualification grade. See this thread for a more in-depth look at your dilemma:
  7. Agree. That, weak corners and staple corrosion, too.
  8. Can you post close ups of the corners and interior pages?
  9. Hi all - Second tonight is ASM #125. Second appearance of the Man-Wolf. A couple of color breaking spine stresses and needs a C&P, especially the BC. Appreciate your comments!
  10. Hi all - Here is ASM #135, the second full appearance of the Punisher. Edge chips and a faded area in the black along the right edge. Is the faded area a manufacturing defect? Book is complete. Thanks for looking!
  11. This is a Printer’s crease, it occurs during production and will not affect the grade on this book. As information there is another on the FC as well by Bossk’s left leg... 8.0
  12. Agree. That BC crease is heavy enough to break color in a couple of places.
  13. Cool. Looking at this book I see a 8.5, so let’s call it a 9.2 because every recent CGC grade reveal has been 2 points higher than what I thought it was. This can’t possibly work... so now we play the waiting game...
