  1. Bottom line is you screwed Matt over. You should be on the probation list "end of story" unless you can get him the same book. What you did was downright wrong.
  2. Lets be honest about something, the fact that Yannis and Bat-Man have not posted on this thread shows me one thing. They are cowards and don't want to deal with this! MAN up and make this right!
  3. How? He doesn't have the comic any more... True. If he can't recover it from the buyer maybe he can make it up to the original/screwed buyer some other way? I just can't believe the Yannis I know wouldn't try to do SOMETHING to make amends. Then again I got suckered(almost) by Alleybat....so what the hell do I know??? I remember when it happened, it was horrible.
  4. I have no reason to disagree with you,but what really can you do at this point.I do however feel that he should be put either on the probation list or Hall of shame list, because really is this going to be resolved? If Matt dosnt get the tec I vote Hall of Shame. Dirty move by Yannis and Bat-man
  5. According to Dan, they were actually going to drive over there, pick the book up in person and finalize the deal on Saturday. DRX Which would you prefer? Payment by electronic means that's guaranteed all at once. Or would you rather wait for some stranger who may or may not show up with his friend at your door step after a four-hour drive? And if they do show up, wouldn't you be concerned about the possibility of being beaten up and robbed? The logistics for setting this up is a pain compared to the ease of a quick electronic payment. No? Good god man, you are defending his actions? And why are you so quick to conclude the obvious?? I think there's a lot of scenarios that can occur. I'm playing devil's advocate. It doesn't make sense why someone would accept less money unless there was a reason. Right, he wanted to hook his friend up. You're essentially doing the same thing here. (thumbs u Yannis is wrong and I'm willing to bet bat-man is wrong also
  6. Wow, i'm just hearing of this. I think John needs to clarify exactly what happened and why. I can only imagine that it was a money issue (greed). No. It's not a greed issue. Bat-man showed me a snapshot of the paypal transaction. He really did pay $1,500 plus fees...less than what mt1000 said he would have paid -- $1,600. Why didn't Bat-Man post this himself? Good question. I guess Bat-man will have to answer that himself. Were's the snap shot?

  8. And i agree with you 100% and i truly am sorry for his lost , but i got screwed for no reason. I myself am going through a loss too my best friend died unexpectedly a week and a half ago ,so Yes it sux I probably should know better but I want to point out a couple of things. First of all, yannis sold the Tec 37 to bat-man for $100 less than the price he would've sold to mt1000. Obviously, greed was not the motivating factor for breaking the deal. Second, when you have a dying relative, being "unable to get to a computer" should be the least of your worries. Unless you're well off financially, you don't have to worry about medical expenses, funeral costs, and all that entails. I know yannis is not in the "super rich" category. This goes back to why he sold to bat-man over mt1000. The former paid all in one shot compared to Matt who was planning on dividing time payments into who knows how long (? it's still unclear the time line agreed between mt1000 and yannis). The motivating factor had to be getting the money ASAP from a known buyer the seller has dealt with before, compared to risking credit on a newbie that might flake. The death in the family just reinforces the urgency. Does that make sense? I think the worst fault on the part of the seller was his promise to sell the Tec 37 to two buyers at the same time. That's basically unethical. But given that he needed the money, he may have been attempting to hedge his risk and not have the sale fall through. I'd just as well ascribe it all to poor communication skills. I don't think the intent here was to rip anyone off, since mt1000 did get his deposit back. It was to be paid off in a month. MT1000 contacted the seller week or so before it was sold to to the other boardie to pay the rest in full. and he didn't care about the "downgrade". The part I am having the most trouble believing is the paid less part. If I had to make a guess that was stated to back up the story given. Based on the $ amount someone was willing to pay for low grade Tecs in the WTB area its hard to swallow. Well if Bat-man paid Yannis Paypal personal and Matt paid Yannis normal paypal ,yannis would make more money with PP personal compared to PP normal. Even if its a 100 less.
  9. Why don't Bat-man and Yannis man up and do the right thing. Bat-man sends the book to Yannis. Yannis refunds him. Sells the book the Matt. That would be the best thing to do for everyone involved.
  10. Not if he's on the probation list. So far the vote is clearly in the favor of him being placed on it. Sorry, but the probation list is nothing like as effective as you think. If a seller has 'cool books', too few people actually care. Good point
  11. Not if he's on the probation list. So far the vote is clearly in the favor of him being placed on it.
  12. 38-2 I guess Bat-man and Yannis both voted no.
  13. IMO Thats hall of shame stuff he did. No excuse for what he did. Once you are on the hall of shame there is no coming off. possibly getting another Tec' 37 for him Good point, but what are the odds of that?
  14. IMO Thats hall of shame stuff he did. No excuse for what he did. Once you are on the hall of shame there is no coming off.
  15. What yannis did was wrong and he should be put on the probation list, end of story. I' m still willing to bet that bat-man undercut Matt. Bat-man should not be off the hook yet. Added a poll to this to see what people though.
  16. I was thinking the same thing, but I didn't want to say anything. Thanks for throwing it out there for me! This still doesn't take the fault of taking that new deal off the seller even if this is the way it went down. Your 100% right. I just have a weird feeling that bat-man undercut the guy, if he did bat-man was wrong also
  17. So you bought the book, you give him a down payment then the buyer gives you a B.S reason why he's not going to sell it to you then refunds you the money. Then Bat-Man has the same book on his sig. This thread is made then he takes it of his sig. Hmmm I might toss something out in the wind here, I might be wrong I might me right. Could Bat-Man undercut you on this book and thats the reason why he took it off his sig? Think about this. You agreed to the total price of the tec with the seller. You gave him a down payment. Bat-Man pm's the seller about the book, the seller tells him its sold for the amount. Bat-Man then tells the seller that he will give the seller more for the book. The seller agrees. Could that be the case and thats why Bat-Man took the book of his sig. Just throwing something out.
  18. Out the seller first. It will make you feel better
  19. Ya Roy Happy Birthday! Beer on me at the Michigan show.
