Agreed that it is pretty, but this sucker is not for sale until I upgrade it.

My next big buy will be a 227 and a tec 395 I want to get them both in a 9.4 so its time to save money

 

Good luck finding a decent Tec 395. This is a real tough one to find in decent shape. Even more so than the 227 because it doesn't get as much press. In the last 9-10 months or so, I've only seen about three 9.2s and one 9.6. Of the 9.2s, two out of three had either crappy PQ or horribly mis-wrapped. The one 9.6 was a Twin Cities copy that sold over at Heritage for $3700+. I had a winning bid of $3585 on the TC copy until my internet connection came to crawl and someone else took it.

 

Wounded up having to overpay for the one 9.2 with W pages at CL.

 

I had two 9.2 Tec 395s last year and parted with the miswrapped copy. This one cost me $20 raw on the boards a year or two ago.

I will asked this because I really don't under stand it much, but why are the bat books worth more than the tecs? It seems like the Tec books are harder to find

Tec #400 is an interesting book value wise. Prices have been higher due to the perceived scarcity in high grade, but it will be interesting to see how they hold over the long run as it is not one of the best Adams Batbook covers and the Man-bat is a minor (if that) character. I would rather have #395, 405 or 411 personally.

I would like to also add that a tec 402 in High Grade is very hard to find.

Personally I always prefered Adam's Tec covers,...

A very under rated book IMO. That book is a must have.

The current action on Batman #227 reminds me of one of the big run up ins GL #76 prices. Even though the market was relatively flooded with VF or better copies, the prices kept rising in both cases and held fairly well.

Big diffrence in book GL 76 is a key book the bats is just a awesome cover

 

Agreed, but there are so many copies of GL #76 out there in 8.0 - 9.0 that I am surprised the prices have held up so well.

 

FWIW, I personally think that Batman #232 should be the most valuable Adams Batbook due to its significance, but the market feels otherwise........

Please stop it. Rocketeer has been here for a long time and im sure other members can vouch for him. Looking at the bidding history, it seems that the bidder wants his bids to show he's serious in wanting the book. If he was shilling his auctions, then why isnt it private?

Look at other accused shills, they never had there auctions private either. Just because someone has been here awhile doesn't mean much.

I'm a DC collector,..and I probably bid on every DC comic that sparkle city puts up for auction,...does that make me a shill for them,..look at don't know you, but I think you are way out of line accussing me on shilling my auctios,...I'm fairly well know with the older boardies here and I think they can attest that I'm probably one of the most honest collectors/sellers here,...this account I'm selling under may only have 109 maily because I want to keep it sepoate from that I buy books on,..not that its any of your business but I have over 1500 feedback as both a buyer and seller on that acount? my books are not shilled,..the high bidder on the book right now is the same guy who bought the #234 8.5 from me,...he's a Batman collector and I just happen to sell a large amount of BAT/TEC books,...so think what you want, but unless you have proof of me I'm asking you to stop accussing me or I will take action to get you to stop,...I'm not going to argue this point with you any further.
