  1. Thanks for the information everyone, I’ll definitely have a better idea of what to ask for at the next shop. I don’t plan on doing this too often, but for some books the 1:25 ends up costing as much on the secondary market as it would be to get 25 copies at cover.
  2. Thanks Sweedy! I’ll definitely ask a different LCS, the one I called said I could preorder the 25 and they’d set aside the 1:25 for me at the normal cost they’d charge in store for it (around $40). I asked a few online sites too and they were more than happy to let me preorder 25 books and then keep the unlocked 1:25 for themselves. I’ll keep asking around until I find a shop that’s willing to work with me, just wanted to know if they were actually out there! thanks again!
  3. Good afternoon, I haven’t been involved in the modern comic book market for a while and noticed that ratio variants are coming out for almost every major book. I was wondering if only distributors have the ability to order say 25 copies of a book to be able to get a 1:25, or if there’s a way for me, the lowly comic enthusiast, to order 25 copies of a book before FOC and secure a 1:25 copy without having to pay the outlandish prices on the secondary market. I tried searching for this information as well as calling my LCS but couldn’t find an answer. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!
  4. *** Grade is in *** I feel like CGC has been overly strict on submissions lately, but I’ve had books over graded in the past as well so I guess it all evens out. Not sure if this one is worth a CPR, the blunted corners etc can’t be pressed out. I’ll likely sell and hope to get a higher (over 9.0) at some point in the future. Thanks for your input everyone!
  5. Good evening, Sending this to CGC, hoping to get a 9.6, any thoughts? The only real flaws are a small color breaking crease that’s been pressed out on the edge of the middle of the front color and some slight discoloration around the edges of the back cover. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  6. 3.5 seems to be the consensus, I’d be very content with that grade. Thanks everyone!
  7. Good morning, Will be submitting this to CGC but was wondering everyone’s thoughts on what it might grade out at. Book is complete and firmly attached at the staples. Looks like there was some water damage on the top right corner that goes through the whole book. Thanks!
  8. Thanks for the input everyone! Would have likely had it slabbed if the paint spot wasn’t such a big issue, but I think I’ll wait to get a cleaner copy. This one will stay as a reader copy.
  9. It’s a spot of dried white paint, I’m guessing from the original distributor but not totally sure.
  10. Would love some thoughts on this book. I don’t have much experience in estimating grades on books prior to the modern age, my first thought on this book was around the 5.0 range. It wouldn’t allow me to upload more pictures so I only have an overall of the front and back cover. The interior is off white to white and is complete and attached firmly at the staples. No water damage or hidden surprises inside. Thanks!
