  1. It only took five pages for these posts to start pouring in!
  2. What seems to be the consensus around here? Im listing stuff online, and I am starting to get to the full series / runs of longer running books. So my question is do you think its better to sell a complete run at a premium or a lot discount? I know that it may depend on the series itself, however, I like to try and come up with some sort of formula. Take Sandman for example. 75 issues, let's say all first prints. I think selling the collection as a whole is far better than individual pieces. But then you take Blue Beetle from 1985-ish. Sure, 26 issues in, but is it really worth a premium? Love to hear some thoughts on this.
  3. I had first thought 5.5, seems to be the average consensus on this one! Thanks!
  4. I want to say lower only because you bought the exact same copy as mine and this one is better. But I like 7.0 for this one too.
  5. And now the next one. When I opened this issue, there was a piece of an inner page sticking out. I think this was glued back on. Hard to tell, but the rip doesn't match up with the edge of the page and there is a hard line between the edge of that piece and the comic itself. It was difficult to get a really good photo of it Question: If this was restored (it wasn't noted on the listing at all), should I leave it or take it off? How much will a small missing piece on an inner page really affect the value? I personally don't want a restored version, and didn't know it was like this. I am tempted to rip 'er off like an annoying skin tag. Please feel free to opine.
  6. Picked this up with a DD #15 (next post). I think in my mind i know, want to see how my guess compares. Spine creasing for sure. there was some grease pencil mark on Ka-Zar's chest, faint but still there. Thanks!
  7. My initial thought was: 5.0. Pressing bigger, older issues like these must be a little more.... onerous? No?
  8. I was thinking 7.0 initially. From one newbie here to another, I have learned a lot from these fine ladies and gents over just a few weeks since I joined. Its hard to look at your precious finds and realize that 9.0 comic in your head is really only a 7.0 in reality (or less, like my first stab at this ended up being a 4.0-4.5, which wasn't shocking, just eye opening). In any event, I thank everyone who takes the time to post a grade and an opinion. Cheers!
  9. I am finally the proud owner of a Marvel Feature #1. Looking for feedback. These Giant-Size issues are very hard to find in decent condition. This one is completely intact, although what I see are: There are a few ticks along the spine Wear along the left-hand bottom spine and both corners not a lot, but still there. A tiny, tiny rip on the right-hand side about half way down (the piece is still attached. I was able to gently put it back in place I think its a solid upper mid, but would love to hear what people here think. Thanks as always!
  10. It seems like a very tiny piece of extra paper or something. Its not a fold or a tear though
  11. Looking to see the critiques on this one... Seems like a little black bleed from the printing on the spine perhaps? Thanks as always in advance!
  12. I thought 7.5 on first impression. Nice book.
  13. Im not sure I could buy a qualified green label, only because I am a completist. A missing Marvel Stamp I might swing at the right price, but top dollar for a comic missing an entire page is disaster to me. In my 40 +years of collecting, I have some with a missing page or two, and when I come across one, it bugs me. I know thats my choice. You all make excellent arguments. I agree with Gaard however, its either this or that. It cant be “kinda this, sorta this, so we decide its this”. There has to be a static standard. I buy a comic, its in the condition that it is in, incomplete, intact, complete, or pristine. To me, there is no other option.
  14. No, I get that but it still seems off to me. Buyer beware, I suppose.
  15. Question for the experts here.... So I was browsing Comic Connect today, and there is an X-Men #6 (1964) graded at a 9.2. It states that there is page missing but doesn't affect story. Looks good, but in my mind, why should it garner a Near Mint grading? Makes no sense to me. The comic is incomplete. That alone should knock that down several tiers. Seems crazy to me. Thoughts?
  16. I say 9.0-9.2 (only because possible spine tick), and I hate you for having this and not me!
  17. Looks like it was a REALLY good day for this one! Oh yes, congrats.
