  1. I went back 20 pages looking to see if a Doctor Strange thread already existed and didn't see one. So, even if it did, now there's a new one
  2. I have around a half dozen more that I'll need to take new pics of when I can get to it. Here's a later Silver Age Spidey
  3. I lost several pics when my last laptop puked, but I do have a few pics of some of my Romita signed Spidey copies. I'm happy with the signature placement on all of the copies I own.
  4. This was very interesting, as I have noticed irregularities with the price on some of the books mentioned in his journal, but had only discussed it privately with a friend. I actually have some information that I could add if that turns into a discussion. Cool stuff!!! Thanks for posting that
  5. I would say to buy the nicest copies your budget will allow. I don't think I've ever regretted buying quality. Btw, you've picked a heck of a run to go after!!! Best of luck in your hunt!!!
  6. I have considered cracking it out for a re-sub, along with a few others.
  7. Thanks! It was projected to grade higher. It was graded at a time they were very tight. 7 of 8 came back lower than expected.
  8. I finally had the box out with THIS in it. Very pretty copy for the grade.
  9. Thanks!! It was a lot of loot though, so can't afford to get one like that very often. Oh well, slow and steady fills the box
  10. This one isn't quite as white, but it is a few years earlier, so ….
  11. I think that these are SO overlooked by most collectors. The westerns remain excellent bargains in the hobby! SOME of the Kirby covers can go for some loot though.
  12. Here's one that I bought a little while back and don't think I posted here. Unbelievably difficult to find these with WHITE pages! I also love the little 12c price circle!
  13. I'm SO happy to have grabbed this high grade copy! These are legitimately hard to find in nice shape with great pages!
  14. By posting all of these, you've almost got me to start collecting the run a few different times!! If I would've knuckled under and bought that gorgeous 9.8 #12 I was looking at …. the hunt would've been on. Well, that book disappeared, so …I've been saved from the addition of another expensive run. I WILL however enjoy looking at YOUR copies
  15. Also, another factor is that, if I'm not mistaken, it carried a cost of roughly $200 on the low end for a Stan signature with the grading cost included, more for a more expensive book. Prices have risen since he passed away.
  16. My advice is to just do your homework, using GPA as a guide to what seems reasonable and what seems like someone looking to hit a home run. Stan signed a billion books, so there's no shortage of copies out there. You can afford to be choosy with the amount of material available.
  17. Tough to say with accuracy, as I don't see that many offered (and I AM looking for them), but I CAN say that they sell for less. I think it's an area in the comics market that has tremendous room for growth, but it'd be difficult to know when/if that's going to happen. For me, I buy them when I feel the price "seems" low or at least reasonable to me. That Mexican Edition Spidey #14 I posted is NOT an easy book to find, MUCH more rare than the American Edition (which isn't really rare at all) and considering how much that book has been skyrocketing, I feel like I got it for free.
