  1. Lloyd Jacquet was the founder of Funnies Inc, one of the first comic book packagers who supplied artwork and stories to upstart publishers. Funnies Inc supplied all of the artwork for Marvel Comics #1. Lloyd Jacquet was revealed to have saved many "file copies" from the period.
  2. This is the only pic I have currently of the front and it's Action #15, coverless & missing the 1st page. This is starting to become an expensive book!!!
  3. With the escalating prices of our beloved Golden Age comics, it is starting to become more common to see coverless, wraps or single pages slabbed, especially with pieces of BIG key comics. I would imagine that it's easier to sell once the item is verified as well. Having them in holders also affords the collector a peak at the interior and therefore hopefully makes posting them here fun for fellow boardies to see glimpse of interiors of books that they may not have seen before. So …. post away and share those slabbed incomplete comics. I know this thread won't be everyone's cup-of-tea, but I hope some of you enjoy it!
  4. Top Notch #7 CGC 4.5 Conserved. Label states: off white pages, Conservation includes: staples replaced. Centerfold detached. I cracked this out and am happy I did, 'cause it's a very cool issue! Oh and Shield crossover in the Wizard story is a treat. $295 CGC label included. NOW $285
  5. Top Notch #27. Despite the fact that this feels solid in hand and has really great page quality, I gotta grade this 1.0-1.5 as the cover is loose, there's a fair amount of tape on the interior cover and that staining on the back cover. It's complete, very thumbable (Great paper quality) and hard to find any cheaper. $90 SOLD
  6. Black Hood #16. A very solid 4.0 with great pages, ow to ow/w. Shows wear on the spine, keeping the grade down. $250 SOLD
  7. Black Hood #13. A colorful 3.5 with c/ow pages. There's a lot of great stuff in these overlooked issues. $175 SOLD
  8. Zip #34 Well, this is odd. It's coverless, but also missing the second and third wrap and the centerfold. The Web story is complete, as is the Wilbur, Black Witch and Zips Hall of Fame stories. Plus some cool house ads in a VERY hard to find issue, all for lunch money. $40 NOW $30
  9. Zip #26 As you can see, this is coverless, but it's complete beyond that! You can buy a repro cover and fill the hole for cheap $95 NOW $75
  10. Zip #29 This is a TOUGH book to find! This copy has a decent amount of glue inside the spine and some on the outside. Also some pieces off the cover and a cover tear (see pic). Now the UPSIDE is that it's a clean, flat, SOLID, well presenting copy with great pages and fully loaded with heroes as MLJ was at the top of their game in this area of the run. Seldom for sale, take it for $695 NOW $595
  11. Zip #25. Ok, well I purchased this is another companies holder but cracked it out to enjoy it. I can tell you it was graded a 2.5 stating that 3 edges of the front COVER are trimmed. Not the whole book, just the 3 front cover edges. Some collectors are scared of trimming. Don't be. It's disclosed so you know what you're getting and the price is reflective of that. There is tape on the spine (see pic) and some on the inside and outside front cover. A filler copy with c/ow pages although they were called ow/w on the label. Once again, these are getting hard to find in any condition. Just above my cost at $285 NOW $260
  12. Zip #23 a lot of amateur restoration on this book. Bought off of eBay from a dealer who sells a lot of this kind of stuff. See pics. I know you'd like to buy these books in better condition, so would I, but they have all but completely disappeared on the marketplace. Fill the hole & upgrade later …. if you can. $195 SOLD
  13. A handful of lower grade, affordable Zip Comics. First in the thread trumps any pm dealing. Pricing these just a little above cost, so not much wiggle room, just so ya know. PayPal, checks & money orders for payment. 7 day return privilege on raw books. $10 priority shipping with signature confirmation in the U.S. (insurance is extra and at cost). Shipping outside the U.S. is expensive and at cost. Scanner not working well, so most of these are cell phone pics.
  14. The remaining 4 books have now been discounted.
  15. Zoot #12 This bra-popping-off-cover looks much nicer than the 1.8-2.0 I'm calling it. The inside spine has tape as do the inside covers and at the staples on the first wrap (see pics). Anyway, this looks pretty decent in the sleeve and it's hard to find this much cool for this small of a price! $95
