What book are you missing?

I don't have readers. I have had the whole run raw before, so that's something I've experienced. It's pretty cool to be able to go through them like that. None of the books I've submitted for my Daredevil run have been pressed by me (I'm sure some of them have been pressed!) Most of the books I've submitted were earlier on in building my run when I could go to a con, dig through boxes and spot decent candidates out of a list of like, 50 or 100 books. These days, that would take a small miracle for the small number of books I have left. To that point: I am actually going to submit two books that are being worked on right now. I have a 122 that had a weird crumple that was able to be pressed out and the 69 I have that went from a Voldemort 9.4 to a CGC 9.2 on resub.

It's been fun to do. I'd love to get them all photographed and up on the site. Maybe in the dead of winter I can finally do this too.... But your copies show such "curb appeal" if you will, that I'd rather look at yours!! Best of luck on finishing hopefully your keeper DD set, once and for all my fellow DD aficionado. It might be the dead of winter before I can finish sharing my own run. I'm going to have to scan the books I subbed as well as the books from Pedigree, HighGradeComics and eBay books myself. Of course if I'm celebrating finishing this run, it might be a little bit more fun than it sounds like right now.

Thanks! It's been fun for me to look at them from that perspective. I'm really happy with the overall quality and clicking through the whole list really brings that home.

I love the Kane covers. #122 is another one. I can't wait to get my hands on a copy.

For sure. I need to do some organization of my collection so I might be able to do some prelim shots (10-50 or something) since that's a nice solid run.

Which five? I'm always curious about what books people are missing. I'm probably going to start looking at the books from 158-200 now. I've been waiting, since I wanted to finish the pre-Miller run first, but there's not much buying opportunity so I might as well work on the Miller stuff. I want to do that, finish Born Again and then figure out if I want to complete 200-300. If I did that I'd probably just end up buying runs and submitting them myself, because waiting for those books to show up at auction or for sale would take forever.

With four 9.2 placeholders (7,69,72 and Annual 3) I just need 1,55, 86, and 122. MintyMint was just able to sell me his #66 9.4

Has anyone picked up anything interesting?

I went through a few hundred of the Brad Squared leftovers and ended up buying a few. They were all over the place. You had a handful of books that were 9.6-9.8 that were just so cheap they weren't worth auctioning and then there were a ton of books that were just soft grade-wise. Two of the Daredevils in my run are from that collection (141 and 147)

What would the candidates be?

I still don't have the Moderns I submitted to CGC on 3/26 so 108 days isn't going to be far off for CGC either When were they received? I have a modern sub received on 3/30 that I'm still waiting on, so that's the world we live in right now. Shipped 30 minutes later.

It's a really nice copy, for sure. I'm happy to have it, I just feel like I got caught in the jaws of CGC's current harsh grading.

*sigh* One step forward, one step sideways. I had two voldemort books (65 and 69) that I had graded by CGC. Both went in at 9.4. Only the 65 came out as 9.4... the 69 came in at 9.2. There was nothing I could see that would bring the book down. It looks like there are some pressable defects, based on the grader's notes, but... man, I thought I was done with this book.

Now i do have a scan. I didn't realize those books were still out there, since they're not linked from the site any more. I should go through everything I've won there to make sure I have the backups. That's actually a lot more white than I'm happy with, but the pedigree makes up for it.

Nice! I don't have a scan handy of mine... I'm curious how the cut compares (curator, 9.4) because that's pretty damn good.

That sucks. That's a sweet SS book regardless, but too bad you didn't get the ultimate.

I'm keeping the undercopy, actually. I bought the 9.4 Don/Maggie Thompson copy a few months ago and finally decided to sell the 9.6. Re: #7, yeah, two 9.2s up for sale in quick succession is pretty crazy. Such a tough book.
