  1. http://www.ha.com/heritage-auctions-press-releases-and-news/-1-million-don-maggie-thompson-pedigree-collection-leads-nearly-1-700-lots-of-comics-and-comic-art.s?releaseId=2433
  2. I won this last night. I wasn't around when the auction closed or else I would have taken a run at the #8 as well (both went cheap, I thought.)
  3. Same here. It was just about as bad as comics get.
  4. The whole 300s were awful. That new costume? I'd already stopped reading by the time 310 came long so I don't know what happened there to make that a line in the sand.
  5. Holy cow. If I won every Daredevil I needed that was coming up for auction over the next two months I'd blow my budget for the year. And that doesn't even include a #1, which is its own thing. I'd also be 80-90% done with the 1-157 set.
  6. Speaking of which, my totals have changed since: Boston Mass (x2) Pacific Coast (x3) White Mountain Western Penn (x15) Curator (x3) Twin Cities (x3) Northland Suscha News (x10) Rocky Mountain (x2) Winnipeg
  7. I wondered who I was bidding against on Comic Connect for some DDs - little did I know it was an OS forumite. Rob I was bidding on the #2 and I think, a #5 or #16 (whichever one was a pedigree copy, the other one was at ComicLink that same month) , in the last one. Hopefully, I'll stay out of your hair for the rest of the year. I do have a bunch of books queued up to bid on at Comic Connect and Heritage (I think) so hopefully we'll miss each other in the carnage
  8. Great book. I won the Avengers 159 Daredevil cameo.
  9. I'm tracking something like 16 Daredevil books in the next Comic Connect event auction. I have a feeling that auction is going to blow my whole budget for the 1st half of the year.
  10. great books, for sure. I'm having a hard time picking the cooler of the two.
  11. just use your no shadow kick to force him into sending it to you
  12. I like both costumes, so I'm ok with the yellow on this one. I liked the PQ and the eye appeal, so I paid a few bucks more than I wanted to but I'm happy to have it. My mini-collection is up to 6-8, with two 8.0s sandwiching a 7.5 #7. I'll keep picking them up at the right price, I'd like to get a #1-10 run before the inevitable movie hype kicks in. Yeah, it's a great looking copy for the grade. Personally, I'm happy I've gotten as far into this run as I have without having to deal with a relaunched (and presumably good) movie hyping up prices. I guess I need to go into hyperdrive if I'm going to get the last 50 or so in the 1-157 set before they double.
  13. Cool book. I wish that was a red costume. I only won one DD in the auction last night. 111, which is too expensive right now, but I really wanted to fill that hole and if I overpaid by even 40-50% it's a burden I'm okay with,
  14. Yeah, I've been holding out for a good one. I'm really pleased with this copy. And yeah, after a while where the only thing coming in the mail were John Byrne era Fantastic Fours (many Winnipeg pedigree copies at least) I've had a good run of scopping up Daredevils I've been after.
  15. Comic Connect and... Daredevil 153 9.8 Western Penn Daredevil 152 9.8 Western Penn Daredevil 148 9.8 Western Penn Daredevil 136 9.8 Western Penn Daredevil 135 9.8 Western Penn Daredevil 133 9.8 Western Penn Daredevil 132 9.6 Western Penn Daredevil 120 9.6 Western Penn Daredevil 72 9.2 Western Penn Daredevil 68 9.4 Western Penn Daredevil 51 9.4 Western Penn Daredevil 46 9.4 Western Penn Daredevil 45 9.4 Western Penn Daredevil 34 9.4 Western Penn Daredevil 32 9.4 Western Penn
  16. And... I just won this: I now have representatives of the following pedigrees: Boston Mass (x2) Pacific Coast (x3) White Mountain Western Penn (x15) Curator (x2) Twin Cities (x3) Northland Suscha News (x8) Rocky Mountain (x2)
  17. Nothing way out of bounds for the era, but the black line on the right shows off off-center copies too clearly for my taste.I really like this book so I've been picky.
  18. It's a great book. I'm psyched to win this one. I've been beaten on it probably a dozen times and passed on other copies since it has funky production issues.
  19. This is a terrible photo, but... I'm really happy to finally have a nice copy of this book. It's been hard to get my hands on this one even though it's been a book I've targeted. There have been a lot of miscut/miswrapped copies that I;ve passed on and I've been beaten on other copies. The good thing about this copy is that it's just about the nicest structural/production copy I've seen since I've been looking. Patience paid off here.
