  1. I collect and grade with CGC because I like how hard it is to get a 10. I vet all my cards and try to only send the best to cgc to get those coveted 10’s. They are taking this chase away from me with the new grading system and taking away my interest in grading with them again. I always put sub grades on the higher end cards. This is a must for me when it comes to grading a high end card. I like seeing what sub grade got the 9.5 on a pristine card. When purchasing a high end card I only buy ones with sub grades. And if there are multiple 10’s available for sale then the sub grades can help me make a decision. This is a big loss for me again. I personally like the CGC blue label. It was different at first but it is simple and clean and also their trade mark. You could see a CGC slab from a mile away and you know it’s CGC. They are unique and scream CGC. Your taking away their identity and giving a very generic label that looks the same as all the new start up grading companies. the reason I chose to start collecting cgc slabs and started grading with cgc was for their crystal clear slab. I’m my opinion they have the best case in terms of psa and becket. At least they aren’t taking away the cases but I don’t know that’s enough for me to continue. all in all this whole thing is a complete loss for me and not sure if I’ll be grading with cgc anymore and possibly move out of collecting them. Which sucks because I have a lot of high ends cards with good grades by cgc. I had high hopes for their values in the future when people realized how scarce a pristine 10 is compared to a psa 10.
  2. CGC has announced that they are changing their labels for graded cards. I would much prefer to keep the same labels that CGC has been using forever. Is there anyway to stop CGC from doing. interested in hearing everyone’s opinion here on the new labels and changes. Can we get a petition to stop the label change. I haven’t heard one person that likes the new label. why doesn’t CGC do some type of survey to see if their customers would even support such a change.
  3. I just wasn't sure if they cards themselves in the packs could be considered inadvertent early release and pre release for this set has begun so a lot of people have the actual cards. But no one has these promo as they are not released even with pre released.
  4. Hi guys stumbled across these packs and I’m curious if the cards inside these packs would qualify for inadvertent early release label at Cgc. Since this set is not released yet. Also since pre release just started how about the promos them selves? The promos are at least 2 weeks away from being released to anyone.
  5. It is on its way back now so we should be finding out in the next few days!
  6. just figured it out. You can add multiple bulk submissions to a single order. so you can do 10 bulk with sub grades and 40 bulk no sub grades on the same order.
  7. This is how I did it with my first submission. But now with the new submission form you choose sub grades before you add any cards.
  8. Sending in a bulk submission and wondering if I can select certain cards to get sub grades? I don't need all the cards to have sub grades but there are certain ones within the bulk sub that I would like to have sub grades. are sub grades an all or nothing thing now with bulk subs?
  9. that's a really good grade and if your thinking of trying for the pristine 10 I would probably try with another grading company. You could end up with something horrendous like this
  10. how about the fact they graded perfect 10 cards and refused to honorably give them a perfect 10 because people didn't "pay" for the perfect 10. Almost like a scam.
  11. They gave me an 8.5 on this…. They have no parameters for centering and at this point I don’t even think they measure. Just eye ball and slap a number…
  12. prices I believe are based of when you submit. I believe there was only one price change that I know of.
  13. dang giving me a 9 for centering! you might be harsher than cgc
  14. @PaulS. Does CGC offer an option to have a grade reconsidered on a card? I know some other grading companies do but wasn't sure if CGC offers that. I know grading is speculative and surface, corners, edges would be a tough thing to argue. But after receiving a lot of feed back from other collectors I really feel something went wrong here on the centering just based of a lot of other cgc graded cards. Hoping my only option isnt trying with another grading company as I really like the cgc slabs. here a few comparisons.
  15. @PaulS. Seems like you guys would toss out the old labels knowing there is an issue with them... Is this something you guys will fix if the card is sent back?
  16. Getting ready for another submission and I’m most excited about this Shining Fates Charizard. Let me know what you guys think.
  17. They need to get a parameter set for centering no doubt. Considering a completely miscut card that qualifies for O/C got an 8 and im not sure how they can justify 8.5's on cards that are pretty decent. I might be biased on my zard but it looks pretty damn good on the front and has a heavy top on the back. Just don't make sense that a complete miscut is an 8 and 1 border off on the back is 8.5
  18. I think centering might be the least consistent sub grade which is unfortunate because it seems like it should be the most consistent and straight forward .
  19. I haven't even received it back yet. shipped 11/3. pics from cgc site.
  20. I agree it could have been a 9 but in the end it wouldn't have changed the grade and still left it a overall 9 so I think that is why I'm not to upset. but it would have been much nicer to not have an 8.5 on the card. harsh!
  21. Raw Base set (original) Charizard's can be had for around $200-$300. I'd recommend getting him a graded one to preserve its condition and value. This single card while being over your $50-$100 range would be the best option and retain the most value over time in my opinion.
  22. We have 56 more cards that we are waiting for at CGC however this is our first return from CGC let me know what you guys think of the grades. I don't disagree with the grade but I sure wish the center landed closer to a 9.5 to gem mint this bad boy. So happy to have this thing coming back finally.
  23. I have seen a few cards like this and unfortunately I'm not sure how they determine the over all grade. But I agree with you it should be a 9. Seems like the overall grade should be the average of the sub grades. Would make way more sense. 8.5+9.5+9.5+8.5 = 36 / 4 = 9 Not sure why they don't do it like this.
