So you bought the San Fran for 10k and then the 8.5 sells a few weeks later for 45k My God in heaven.
-
I'd take both the Wow and the Adventure, but that's my .
Which would you choose?
Both bought in the last week by a very discerning collector from Texas for about the same amount of dough...
I'd take the Superman 4

Both sold for approx. $5,950 within the past 12 months. Which one would you choose, and why?
They both suck so neither.

I got in trouble with the wife over this one. I got it through a nice trade deal with Mr. Schomburg.
Looks like it was worth it to me Mike

How the OPG can not include this truly Scarce Classic as one of the top 10 Scifi comics has always baffled me....and not because I have a copy, either.
Who did you buy it from? Also who owns the Mile High copy; Richard?

Does BangZoom still post here?
I was wondering the same thing
His last post was September 10th?
Maybe he was affected by Hurricane Ike. It was a pretty big storm.
I thought BZ was from Massachusetts ?

All day long
OK, OK....before you 2 OPG Advisors burn me at the stake, how about these 2 -- still $13,000 -- still 5 years ago (same Marvel #1 as last match up)Originally Posted By: cioracOriginally Posted By: showcase-4Both sold for approx. $13,000 about 5 years ago.The graders notes on the Marvel reference 5 pieces of tape on the cover, inside cover, and 1st wrap.
Which one would you choose, and why ?
Is this really a competition??
I'd choose a coverless Marvel 1 over the Fantastic #3.
Apples and Oranges.

VERY nice book. Definitely grades a lot higher than a 4.0I know I posted this before...but I want to thank Socratic Wonder for getting this dream book into my hands safely. It's a 4.5 sitting in a 4.0 holder and this book has a LOT of history behind it...among board members, among CGC and most importantly it's an OO book that can be traced back to the original owner thanks to Marnin. One of my favorite Marvel Mystery books and I now own all of my favorite MMC covers in the run. The rest is just gravy. Thanks R!

I couldn't agree more. It seems as though more and more collectors and sellers -particularly on the West Coast- are sending there books to PGX. The closer to home location excuse no longer works for me; it's all about getting over graded books. Which means more money.Originally Posted By: innocuousNot mine. And, this is the wrong grading company, but...Someone please buy this before I break down. PLEASE!!!
Great book, but as usual with books like that, PGX overgraded it. No way is that a 9.2.

Both sold for $90,000 in 2007. Which one, and why ?
Superman #1

Most impressive RareHighGrade! Most impressive -
Just got what I felt was a fair deal for this one on Ebay!
I'll say!!! Welcome to the Church!! Great book R.
You didn't pick up the other church SS copy on ebay?
Thanks Ryan! Its is my first Church book and I think I am hooked.
I WAS going to pick up the Church SS 19 that was also in the auction, but it is such a lame cover I couldn't justify paying that much. I will be just as happy with a nice mid grade copy
SS 20 on the other hand was a book I wanted in high grade and you don't get much better than the church copy do you?
Will you ask Dave Anderson for a scan of Action #1 for me? He didn't e-mail me back.

Maybe he's the guy sending you nasty emails.
Now that's even funnier

Bought these from one of my favorite sellers on eBay. Prior to purchase the two looked VERY familiar to me. I got to thinking and realized they were NOD member Court Eilertson's personal copies for years. Glad I won them and thanks to CGC for the restoration check .

This guy has some serious comics in his collection as he already picked up a VF Tec 31 just a few months ago.
