Post Your FOUR COLOR Comic Covers Here

Thanks for posting the pages. Guess I won't be paying as much attention to those Flash Gordon's anymore -
I can see this making someone's signature line.

What are the interiors like on these. I always end up looking at the Flash Gordon issues so hard when I look up Four Colors on ebay. -

I really wanted that copy when Ed posted it. You picked up some nice books from that thread if I remember correctly. That was a great sales thread. I was very happy to get the #48? Barks Porky Pig. Bruce -
Thanks for the nice JLA's (thumbs u They arrived quickly and well packaged. Bruce

I was in his sales thread and saw some very nice Teri Hatcher pictures...Oh, I bought a few comics as well (thumbs u Thanks the the nice books. Bruce

Ed is a great seller with good prices and finds lots of material. I really don't want to give Ed this great feedback but I figure all you vultures already know this If you have to compete with Scrooge in one of your buying threads you know he is cheap Bruce

What's current value for a 9.2-9.4 set of #1-3 1st prints? Bruce

Fuelman on fire with fuel Okay Gator - know any cross-eyed collectors - hmm, and them moustachios...could it be... For a sec I thought that was my copy. Very similar corner piece missing and a few chips missing from the right hand side of the cover. Will try to post a scan of mine today or tomorrow. Bruce

So what's the harm when a buyer decides not to pay for a book? No harm no foul? From what I got so far from this thread is that both had an agreement and the seller didn't keep his end of the bargain. In your first post you mentioned Matt worked overtime and sold books locally to come up with the additional funds just to find out the seller sold the book he was raising money to pay off???....sorry that's not acceptable in my book. I have no horse in this race but it seems that the seller needs to make good with the buyer somehow. The probation list is in place to protect both sellers and buyers.. I would agree with you but Yannis had posted well before this thread in other threads recently about personal problems. So I do believe he has been under stress and I think as posted above this thread is probably enough punishment. Lets say I bought a book off of Rick and said I could not pay for it and Roy backed me up saying he knew I had a medical emergency I had to pay for.Do you think I would be voted on the probation list? Real life mess happens and as long as its not a habit then I think we eventually have to forgive. Also who will Yannis get off of the list, he doesn't have the book to sell anymore? Bruce
-
Well - bingo? You still don't get it. If X was guilty, why go through the trouble of painting a scarlet letter in X's sigline indicating that X was the other buyer in the first place? Exactly...because he didn't know about the previous transaction when he made the purchase. Clearly when he removed the book from his sig, he likely didn't want to draw additional attention to himself but from what I recall a few days ago, he was proud to show off his pre-Robin Tec collection within his sig. If he knew that there was an agreed transaction with another buyer previously, he wouldn't have displayed that very book with pride for all of us members to see. Or maybe he thought the previous buyer wouldn't notice it, and if he did, wouldn't notice it was the same book??? Not saying it's what happened, but just saying what is said above is not the only way it could have happened. Bruce
-
I will put this out as well. If Bat-Man knew the book was previously sold then both should be on the probation thread until the book is sold to the original buyer at the original price, assuming everything is like the original poster said. Bruce
-
Was it Yannis? I thought so to, but not sure. I thought it was confirmed by bullseyes post, but that was referring to a Tec 26. Bruce

I was told it was a 2.5 ungraded but unrestored and they wanted $1600 They I KNEW that's who it was! i knew first I knew before you all. Stamped it, called it, no erasies, no double crossies. oops! You forgot no take backs I win! YAY! You have to post who you think it is to win Roy doesn't since he sold the book to the person.
-
OK, fair enough...he's not obliged to do anything. I suppose it would be nice to think that he'd feel it the right thing to do, though. Nick, the only person that needs to do the right thing is the seller. The current owner of the book shouldn't have to or be expected to speak for him. I think waiting the 24 hours for a seller response is reasonable, then have at 'em. +1 Buyer has done nothing wrong. Seller "screwed the pooch". Come on Batman posts in every thread. He can tell us who he bought it from. Up his post count some more.

You had a vibrator? No silly my ex wife had it. Now lets not make this thread about sexual issues. I think 1/2 of all crimes of passion are from women going to get their vibrator and finding out that the husband stole the batteries. I read that statistic somewhere. Or have you seen the commercial where the all the woman's hand cream is gone.I think it was a Rogers commercial for their adult channels Thats a rogers commercial, funny as hell. Bruce

Here's another fragment. and another... Looks like you took a pic of the lawn gnomes in front of your house. Bruce

Thanks. I think Air Fighters had some terrific covers. I don't know why they aren't loved by more collectors. I think part of the reason is comic collecting has become so expensive. I have always loved the Air Fighter covers and will probably get an issue or two one day, but I would rather work on my few small core runs. When I am done them in a few years I will probably move on to Amazing Man or some early Fox super-hero books. So many things to collect and so few collecting dollars. Bruce

I dont have a scanner but will post some photos in the coming weeks, have about 200 bronze/copper SSWS/Unknown Soldier and OAAW/Sgt. Rock books arriving. Bruce

I think it's very likely that will eventually change. Just as CGC and online auctions have changed things, online information sharing is slowly but surely changing our hobby too. Collecting the Marvel price variants is an obvious example -- with a handful of notable exceptions, nobody cared about that 20 years ago, few even knew. There is more interest and awareness in Silver Age price variants, and in subjects like the Gold Key Star Trek #1 variant you and others were discussing down in silver age. The hobby is slowly but surely moving towards greater information transparency, and as this information continues to get pieced together through people sharing what they know, more and more collectors are going to eventually take interest in what print their Supes #1 might be, and aren't there different All Star #3 printings out there...? and so on. And I think eventually CGC will have to respond to that. I agree. When enough information is made public and accepted then you will see people gravitating towards the "true" first prints and passing on the "second" prints" as they will want to protect their investments, plus the greatest returns will be made on the "true" first prints. Imagine buying a mega key and watching it get hammered because the market now classifies it as a second or third print. Bruce
