  1. this applies to all parts of american life - if it was easy everybody could do it - if everybody could do it, it wouldnt make anyone any money. unfortunate side of capitalism. also don't forget that places like cgc and others only exist so that people can have confidence in something because they cant / dont / or wont trust each other. kinda like i said in another post regarding art. it's not worth anything unless someone of percieved importance and authority says it is.
  2. i forgot this was a teamup also in my top 10
  3. i'm pretty fond of the spiderman and powerman teamup because it's the first one i bought my favorite though has to be spiderman, scarlet witch, vision and doctor doom vs. cotton mather
  4. just got the update that this comic has been shipped out and i was pleasantly surprised to see that it came in at a 4.5. I was thinking 3.0 to 4.0 as most of you said here. graders notes are: piece out top of back cover light staining to cover light tears to cover moderate creasing to cover moderate tanning interior cover thanks everyone. I will post in the ebay thread when i get it back and list it.
  5. i was wondering what those makes were. makes sense now. thanx
  6. yup absolutely. i would only send it in if i had a few extra dollars to see how much could be done. but having anything extra for that is probably 3 to 5 years away. just curious what this woud be as is. id be surprised to get a 1.0 thanks
  7. i just noticed staple stains that go through each page so i think you were generous if anything
  8. LOL i forgot to include the picture of the inside thaks for reminding me. the pages actually turn fine and are in great shape aside from the wavyness
  9. I bought this comic in the late 70's exactly like it is for 50 cents because it looked interesting. Im more a horror and scifi fan. There is a dent on all 4 sides that goes through the whole comic as shown in the side shot. I am curious also how much a pressing would improve things. I would put this grade at a negative 5.0 What do you think? Thanks
  10. back in february my submission under economy was entered into the system 2 days after it arrived. my latest submission arrived 7 business days ago and has not been entered in yet, but as other posters have said, they may just be busier right now so it will take a bit longer. i only check once a day otherwise i would go mental cheers :)
  11. very interesting, thanks. i have several comics with those smudges. i will check that out.
  12. frequent and usually excessive price increases on everything post covid is standard business practice so this does not surprise me. at least this one was only a couple of dollars this time. I only ever wanted to sumbit 2 comics as the rest of my comics are 10.00 or less in value. My second submission made it under the wire for the old prices.
  13. Yup yup thanks I figured pressing would improve the look a bit and if someone is going to potentially spend 400 to 800 dollars for this I should at least get a pressing done.
  14. Hey everyone. I want to send in my second comic to CGC but I clearly have no idea how to grade lol. I sent my first comic in as a 4.0 / 5.0 possible and it came back as a 3.0 The smudge on the image of the inner page is what i always thought of as an improperly cleaned roller on the assembley line. This was unfortunately a fairly common thing when I was buying comics. Thanks.
  15. I just got my cgc submission back today and the driver just rang the doorbell and drive off. the fedex website said my signature was obtained. i called but got outsourced customer service so i hung up. i havent used fedex for over 10 years and if cgc didnt use them i wouldnt have been sucked back into their black hole

  17. as does the television, film and music industries and many others yes
  18. how is this different than any collector of anything making millions off selling other peoples stuff? did anyone who sold any million dollar trading cards, comics, and others kick anything back to those struggling artist? im not saying that I think of any of this as right or wrong, but living in a money driven world this sort of thing is a thousands of times a second occurance. people like warhol made and make a very good living off other peoples stuff as do people in the comedy / pardoy business. art is what a bunch of self important people say it is and todays law will be overturned tomorrow and will be back again on thursday van gogh traded his "art" for a couples of nights lodgings and some meals to people who thought his stuff was garbage and felt sorry for him. and now his "art" is priceless the same thing happened to comics and trading cards in my lifetime. when i was a kid we used to make small ships out of baseball cards and float them on a curb stream after a rain
