  1. Hourman, Doctor Midnight, Red Tornado, Sandman, Sargent Rock .... Holy smokes!
  2. Could be the main ingredient in that speed-reverser vaccine.
  3. I was wondering that. Though I think Wells may be so terrified by Zoom, he wouldn't dare attempt to plant a device on him. Zoom already trusts him with the "speed force injector" ---- why not whip up something for that - looks like speed force - but NOT....... This is true too. Now that he gave Zoom a first 'safe' shot of Speed Force, now the next one could be a zinger. I was thinking that too. Next injection could be a reverser cocktail.
  4. I remember about a decade ago, when I scoured the NYCC for a copy of SC4 and only found a few low grade copies at the show (that I could afford anyway). But every dealer seemed to have at least one copy of Hulk 1. The funny thing is way back when the 6 issue Hulk run was like the runt of the Marvel litter. My, have times changed! I think bringing the character to life via computer animation has a lot to do with Hulk's new found fame. America loves things that explode and smash on the big screen. Hulk appeals to the primal desire to smash anything that gets in our way. It will definitely be interesting to see how both characters evolve over the next few years, as Flash is only in its 1st year of broadcast, and is also going to appear in the Justice League movies. It could help the character achieve more widespread appeal and maybe even spawn higher auction prices on high grade copies. But I do think Hulks appeal is here to stay for quite some time. Even I love the depiction of him in the Avengers movies. He made that last one.
  5. Wow! That's a big one! I have all the Flash Archives though. I have the smaller DC Archive #1, this was a present and is now my reader copy
  6. So did you buy any? Do you still have any? Yes No
  7. Not to this book directly but was discussed a fair amount in this thread. I think its been trimmed down but: http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=9068016&fpart=1 Yeah, all the pros and cons were hashed out at length in that thread, which includes several posts by the husband and wife team that restored these books and several posts by Matt Nelson. Not sure how much of the back and forth survived pruning. Wow - I guess it's fair to say we might see a lot of restored books being re-graded by you-know-who
  8. A 9.8 HOLY COW! Has this been discussed? How is that grade even achievable with a restored book? http://www.comicconnect.com/bookDetail.php?id=650279
  9. Wow, they're mining a lot of Golden Age superheroes. Should be interesting. Where's SPECTRE!
  10. I like 145 also. Here's my copy with an interesting twist. It was a very early graded CGC book, they barely opened their doors for business. Graded 12/17/1999 and note the absence of a Page Quality on the label. http://www.myslabbedcomics.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=31411&GSub=935 Noteworthy on this spectacular cover is the superior drawing of Flash. One of the best drawings of him in the entire run. Infantino Anderson at their peak.
  11. Jim, That story of those mint Flashes gives me goosebumps. I came across a mint hoard of DCs in the late 60's that contained complete runs of Flashes and all the other major DC superheroes and it made me a fan of these for life. There is NOTHING like holding a newsstand mint copy of one of these Flashes in your hand and smelling the freshness of the book. That just doesn't happen much these days. Although I can honestly say the last time I held books like that was the ones I got from your LCS buddy - I suspect the same guy in your story. Mint shape Marvels are also a delight to hold in hand - but I always found the covers to not be as well designed as the DC covers and less glossy looking, more matte, but maybe that's just my memory of it.
  12. For me, I cherish the heritage of the label = not worth a resub. I would like to get it reholdered but I would chance losing the vintage label. I asked CGC if they could maintain the label, and though they would try, they could not guarantee it would happen. If I have a keeper book, I just don't see the point of resubbing. It's still the same book no matter what the label says. I agree with you the slab is part of the history of the hobby, but you could free it from the slab yourself and submit it as standard and save the slab and label - but why bother really - if a book is clearly undergraded that can likely be seen through the slab.
  13. Has the question of which cover of Flash is the best? 144 has my vote.
  14. . . . Indeed. And there are a lot of great first appearances throughout the series.
  15. True! And that reminds us that there will probably be plenty of surprise appearances since the time travel aspect gives the scriptwriters the ability to bring guest characters in from any period. I hope they leverage all the possible avenues including crossover episodes with Flash and Arrow.
  16. Those issues have some great appearances
  17. Yeah I agree with what you're saying but the ratings seem to be good so far. Maybe they'll pick up a new member along the way that can anchor the team. Right now it seems a little rudderless, but maybe it'll improve. I hope so anyway.
  18. That's absolutely true. Congratulations to Chris and the few others who completed the run. I think about you of course Boba with your 1-64 set, that was a great one ! Thanks! That was a fun set to assemble and quite challenging. Some of my books were in the last clink auction in fact, the 55 6.0 white posted earlier and maybe others. That 6.0 was never pressed by the way and I think there may be improvable defects - but it's sweet just as it is too. I love having books with "potential" as opposed to marginal books. Hey what's up with Showcase 22 - it seems to have really dropped off the radar here.
  19. I watched the first half of the first episode and liked it, pretty well, except for the Hawkman/Hawkgirl relationship thing, which I thought was stupid. I am recording the series, so I am going to go back and watch it in a group. I agree, but now that's not an issue I still don't get why they included 2 criminals to be honest. There's so many other superheroes they had to choose from why use them?
  20. Ok, I wasn't aware the White Martian rendition was correct. All-in-all a good episode. I'm not sure about this love interest yet.
  21. Not spinning, but I know !!!! Could we see yet another one !!!!! That moment definitely caught my attention!! But only because But anyway, a great episode...the best so far this season imo. I had no idea that's what the name was associated with. That is SO cool! But does that mean... Holy smokes, that's a thought that hadn't crossed my mind . . .
