That's surprising to me. There's a significant color breaking tic and not sure what you call that long line. Plus the wear on the upper right top corner I feel like these combined and still getting a 9.6 questionable.

I'm curious if this Hulk 181 is the one where they created a duplicate label but with a higher grade. Can having these defects still score a 9.6? This was in a batch of 5 books submitted on 9/8/2023. One of the books sold on ebay from these folks. Grader's note only says "very small crease left top of back cover".

It will be interesting to see how this all plays out but eBay is not incentivized to do anything. Let's not forget they collected thousands in fees from these sales. Not sure what eBay would do for a buyer that purchased something months ago that was fraudulent. They might not even care. I've heard some horror stories from people dealing with their support. I will say that I work for a law enforcement agency and we have investigators that have worked with eBay for gathering evidence. eBay will provide that but of course this is because a law enforcement agency has brought up a case and is requesting the data. I don't see eBay cooperating if it's just a customer trying to resolve these fraudulent sales.

I'm thinking 9.0 - 9.2 -
CGC membership renewal
Christophe9999 replied to Christophe9999's topic in Newbie Comic Collecting Questions
ok cool, thank you -
Hey guys, if your membership auto renews do you get another $150 credit towards grading?

Well the fact that they didn't even get the stripes on the flag right says a lot. Pure money grab all around. Black Flag doesn't deserve anyone's business.

CGC Supply Store discount

for what you get it's actually not that bad of a deal. I prefer to use the solid boxes they offer anyway plus it comes with bags and boards. -
CGC Supply Store discount
Christophe9999 replied to Christophe9999's topic in Newbie Comic Collecting Questions
Customer service instructed me to to just add code "10OFF" at checkout for the discount to apply. While it didn't resolve why the discount didn't apply after entering my membership # the code did work properly so didn't inquire any further. -
Benefit from press?
Christophe9999 replied to Marvel_Madness's topic in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?
Most of the damage is color breaking so pressing wouldn't make much of difference but a cleaning would definitely help the grades. Also IMO not worth screening with older books since the grades may vary plus you need 25 books. I'd just get these guys slabbed. I'm jealous! Some great books to have in a collection! -
I have a similar copy at CGC waiting for grading right now. Mine also had the weird yellowish color on the back so I think you are right about the color bleeding into the back. Depending on how CGC treats that coloring issue I'd say a 9.0 - 9.2

What should I do with this X-Men 266?
Christophe9999 replied to KCode98's topic in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?
IMO I think this book has the potential to be a 9.2 - 9.4 with a press. Plus it's a newsstand so definitely worth it! -
IMO 9.0 - 9.2. I looked at my copy to compare and you already mentioned the issues on the front but I see additional on the back. On the upper right corner it looks like there's some color rub in the blacks. Also on the left side parallel to the guy's knees there's color breaking creases. Plus the blunted corners and I'm leaning more 9.0 than 9.2. I added a pic of mine to compare.

Hi everyone I was wondering if anyone knew how CGC treats printer defects? I have 3 newsstand copies of 442 and all of them have the same/similar printer defects. Pictured are 2 of them and while the blue blotch on the back bottom right is identical on all 3 the other defects are variations in the same areas. I haven't seen this defect on the direct additions and the limited other newsstand additions I saw online didn't have them either. So let's say I only sent one copy for grading. The blue blotch I'm sure they'd know was a printer defect but there are other ones that might be interpreted as maybe stains. I feel like you wouldn't really know until seeing another example with the similar markings or maybe the graders have seen enough to realize it's a printer defect. Just wanted pick your brains. Thank you for your time.

Hey everyone thanks for taking a minute to look. Overall I think this book looks good but it does have some color rub on the upper right. My biggest concern is the chunk missing on the back top right corner. How bad would that knock this down?

PGM ASM 361 Really need some advice!
Christophe9999 replied to Christophe9999's topic in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?
I had an unfortunate death in the family which required some time away so the package sat unopened for a bit. I missed the 30 day money back guarantee by a few days and I didn't pay via Paypal so no extension beyond the 30. Reached out to the seller anyway and they were unwilling to refund the purchase even though it was not as advertised. I guess I should have scrutinized the pics more. It was for a lot of Spiderman books and the pics were a bit grainy but the tear was definitely not there. I guess noob mistake since I don't really buy comics online. If it's in the 6 range I guess it's not really worth grading. -
Hey guys I really need some advice. Long story short got duped with an eBay sale. Book was more damaged than pics appeared including a tear right in the middle of the cover. Return is not an option and it's been a nightmare. At this point I'm trying to recoup as much money as possible by possibly getting the book graded to sell. I'm planning to press it so some of the ticks will come out but a big concern is the tear by Spidey's leg. How bad would this get hammered? Thank you much!

Does anyone know why I'm not seeing the 10% discount for supplies at the CGC store? I registered for an account and entered my CGC membership number but the discount isn't applied at checkout. What am I missing?
