  1. I just bought an original copy of Spider-Man #62. The comic seems to be in almost near mint condition with the exception of one thing. The original owner wrote his name in ink at the bottom of the cover and on the first page. Is there a way to remove the ink without destroying the value? Please see the pictures included. If there is a link to another thread that addresses this, pleas point me in the right direction. Thanks!
  2. Hi, Saw both on the news and an online article https://www.cnbc.com/2021/03/26/its-going-to-get-harder-to-avoid-telling-the-irs-about-income-from-online-sales.html How does that affect anyone trying to sell their Comics on eBay? I find it ridiculous that they are doing this instead of collecting more taxes from Corporations instead of blue collar people. Anyone's thoughts on this? It certainly will hamper selling stuff online.
  3. grendelbo, looking to sell. I've had what's left of my collection since the 60's. I need to liquidate since they are just sitting in boxes. Some are in better condition than others.
  4. I bought this new when it was first released. I wasn't as careful about storing things back then. It has some creases in the cover, small tear lower right near Sandman's right hand. Stains on inside cover. Pages obviously tanned. Any thoughts?
  5. My apologies for not digging deeper into all the topics here to see what the answer might be, but what would it cost me to send issues worth grading? If there is a link in the forum with all the info I would greatly appreciate it if you could send it my way. Dave
  6. Hi, I actually started collecting comics in the early 60's as a child. My Mom would give me lunch money and I always went to the corner newspaper stand and began buying and reading comics. I was mainly a Marvel fan, though I did like certain DC comics (The usual suspects of course). I had bought first issues of Fantastic Four, The Avengers and X-Men. Of course I'd buy, read and then put all of my comics into cardboard boxes in my bedroom, until it got to the point that the boxes created clutter. My older Sister had convinced me in the late 60's (I was 15 at the time) to go with my Dad to a flea market and get rid of most of my cardboard boxes. Yes, I had no clue anything would ever see any value in later years. I don't recall what my Dad sold the comics for at the flea market, but I never saw the money. Imagine my heartache years later to see those same first issues commanding thousands of dollars. Anyway, I still have a mixed collection of what I retained in the 60's-early 70's, and various boxes of comics I've picked up at yard sales, estate sales, etc. I need to look into selling off some of what I have because right now I have no need to keep them all. I'm kind of clueless on the entire grading process and the cost, and would appreciate any friendly advice on how to proceed. Thanks for your time! Dave
