  1. I never mentioned your name. You brought all the victim cards to the party.
  2. Not really. I'm sure someone will pay for it. That's the difference.
  3. Do you have access to a dealer badge to get in early to shows?
  4. Not much except the person in question is one known to be in shows early buying big stuff, as the result of having another dealer's badge. So maybe a fair amount, I guess.
  5. Congrats. My Darwyn commission Daredevil is in the vault and doubtful to ever get away from me. That is a very nice wonder woman. Something about his ink wash and inking skills.
  6. I don't know. I heard their standard for advisors is slipping.
  7. Can I also add this? People actually read dealer reports still? Or the OSPG?
  8. So I suppose Jeff and others who support this policy have already instituted a policy where they refuse to sell to someone early unless they know the person is actually working the booth attributable to the badge they have? (sorry for tangled pronouns, but you get my gist). I know one dealer was person_without_enough_empathying and moaning to someone while I was in earshot, about all the guys in the show early with dealer badges. But he didn't hesitate to take my money. People love the buyers but they hate the competition to buy. Also, I have considered buying a dealer space for the sole purpose of getting the badges. That said, I echo October's sentiments above. That is, buying at cons is pretty hit and miss nowadays, even with early entrance, after you factor in all the costs.
  9. OP posts thread that requires pics to be complete on 6/26. On 6/26, promises pictures on his return from traveling. CGC boards consume themselves in the intervening month.
  10. I would disagree with the central contention that this is even a positive experience. If anything the best that one can hope for seems to be: If I bug them enough I might get my books back after a long time.
  11. Wow. That's amazing. You're never going to sell these? Not here or Ebay. Amazing! Congrats on your newfound love of modern (arguably some late copper) books. It really warms the heart to see someone post a bunch of books for no other purpose than just the enjoyment. Glad this wasn't a prolonged advertisement after all.
  12. I think it's general knowledge that most books spend about a minute, max two with any grader.
  13. Likely 8.0-10.0 is complete and utter BS. Given the # of books that CGC grades as a 10, it is infinitely more likely that an apparent 9.8 book, through pictures, is going to be an 8.0 that it is going to be a 10.0. Infinitely. And I mean that literally. It is frankly very misleading on CGC's part. I think this is a stupid idea all around, but the only things stupider is not making the top tier Likely 8.0-9.8. I will donate $50 to Heroes Project for the first person showing me a book with this likely 8-10 designation that actually is graded a 10. This offer stands for a year from this post.
  14. Weird. Didn't FedEx require that the recipient sign for the package?
  15. As someone who was involved in trying to put order to the Probation List and the HOS back in the day, I can offer the following. It's a clusterf****. There are so many procedural rules and orders of steps to follow that you need a copy of Robert's Rules to navigate it.
  16. Hey, @VintageComics Roy. Lots and lots and lots of delivery service bashing going on in this thread. Can you confirm that these were delivered by FedEx or UPS or USPS or some other national delivery service? Might calm the wolves a little to know which service was responsible.
  17. You guys are skipping the consistent EBay overgrading that he has been shown to do (on these boards) time and time again. His response? "Buyers didn't complain and if they did, I offer a full refund." = "I take advantage of unsophisticated buyers who can't grade."
  18. Bluemedgroup and I recently completed a quick, painless and enjoyable transaction. Thanks!
