  1. As someone who is pretty familiar with sales of TDKR 1-4, a sale of $680 would be an extreme outlier. The sale still shows up in GPA, but it might ultimately get pulled. Even if it is 100% legit, this is NOT an indication of a market trend, IMHO. I've no basis to allege the following but I will put it out there anyway. Book "sells" for $680 on 10/16. Then someone lists a BIN on a 9.8 for $600 on 10/18. ADDED: The Cert #...2020 "Ended:Oct 16, 2015 , 7:16AM" The same Cert #....2020 also "Ended:Oct 16, 2015 , 7:35AM" The first listing was ended as the book was no longer available. Any way to see when the second listing was started? Could be another clue if the $680 book was listed and sold almost immediately. Clue #whatever is that the book was sold at a really weird time for an Ebay sale: 7:35 in the morning?
  2. Phew! We dodged a bullet! I'm composing an RMA novel for your reading enjoyment as we speak.
  3. Incredibly frustrating when you write a long-ish post and then it evaporates because of this.
  4. Those looked really cool. I feel your pain.
  5. It's about 7 months late at this point.
  6. Just got another delay notice on my Sideshow PF Daredevil. Pretty frustrating.
  7. What a shame. RIP. A loss to the boards and the comic community.
  8. Had a little something in my latest sub.
  9. Weak series overall. Either the finale is amazing or I won't be back for a second season, which I had no idea they were even doing. The general story and pacing and most of the acting have not been good.
  10. 8 months later and still waiting. Really? Why would they convert you to an order if they didn't have one for you? Just because you are converted doesn't mean it is ready to ship. That's odd. I wonder why. Let's say a statue has an estimated shipping date of 8 months from preorder. Let's say it sells out in 2 weeks. You put your name on the waitlist after 4 weeks. Some people cancel after 6 weeks and you get converted to a pre order. In this case, I think the original ship date was in March.
  11. Kevin, buddy, I love you man....but you got your apples and oranges mixed up at the local grocery store. These are little written contracts to buy and sell here. Offer, Acceptance, etc. The "last second" you are talking about where the parties can change their mind comes before one party names a price to anyone who accepts and someone accepts. We've got that here too. The list comes up after they've committed to buy or sell and everyone's locked in and agreed to perform. That falls under "a deal's a deal" because at that point it's sealed. CGC's not putting anyone on the list, it's the members here. We've seen some incredibly shady effers up in here and that list, if it serves no other purpose, doesn't let them hide in the shadows and repeat the actions over and over again. That's value. I don’t get the "troll" thing. He is absolutely right. It’s just dishonest to state a purchase and then cancel it. We have even an emoticon to make it the less equivocal possible: one is doing it consciously when he decides to purchase a book, and unless there is a further discussion and/or negotiation with the seller, there are no reasons for which he should run away like nothing has happened. Kevin76 is a troll. I agree with comix4fun, although I find him to be remarkably distasteful when it comes to celebrity signatures. But I digress.

  13. It always was. It's Branget's way or the highway, in that there should be no rules because Laissez-faire? Rules are for suckers? Don't try to control me, bro?
  14. I wouldn't think so. If you have pictures and know there are no returns why should the seller have to accept a return? And if you don't have pictures and buy with no returns, well that was probably a poor choice from the buyer. Part of the problem is a certain assumption that pics/scans are self explanatory, when they are not. Pics mean nothing without at least a numerical grade or some sort of good faith disclosure of hidden defects. No returns as a policy puts the pressure hard on full disclosure. If you show me a book that looks like a glossy VF and say "great copy!" and it turns out the cover is detached, I'm not going to care if there was a no returns policy, I'm going to want satisfaction for a misrepresentation of the product. No, pics fixes all of this. Maybe you should try not being a contrarian about everything. Just give it a try, once. You're missing his raison d'etre: rules are for suckers, except when he might get burned.
  15. Make that 25 cents by the end of the week.... Stock is up 3% at the moment. I don't track penny stocks to begin with. I suppose I might if I was a competitor and loved reveling in their misery. As a publicly traded company, they have the misfortune of having to be public in their failures.
  16. I had one person here do that. Took it pending scan and then tried to negotiate the price, not because of anything in the scan, but because the price didn't leave them enough profit margin.
  17. Or move overpriced inventory, while keeping the bulk of the proceeds for themselves? Where indeed? I'll bet those crosses get mighty heavy for some folks.
  18. You don't think it's important for people to know that the person they are donating money to has taken money from boardies, in some cases years ago, and have not provided what was promised? I don't think we need to deify the party being donated to, reality works just fine. If they have shortcomings, and owe people, then that's part of the story that needs to be told. No sense in hiding facts in order to raise the final tally. Full disclosure to people throwing money at someone doesn't feel like thread-crapping...at all. That's the type of context that anyone donating should want to have given the enormity of the latitude the person being donated to has been given. Something that would have had almost anyone else on one or more "lists". There are folks that are out significant money, and plenty of folks that have supported this same person for several years in that mix, and it's appropriate to have the full measure of reality injected into that conversation as it seems their loss is being muted. +100 I like Matt. And I know if this thread had just popped up 2 years ago, I'd have been one of the first to buy or sell something for his cause. I think it speaks volumes about the concern many of his longtime supporters have that they aren't jumping in to make donations. Many feel that the donation to date has been payment for things that haven't been received yet.
  19. Am I looking at the right listing, as when I go to the link provided it shows 'NM' in the header and the description area? SANDMAN #4 Apr 1989 DC NM 1st App LUCIFER MORNINGSTAR Neil GAIMAN HOT I didn't see a back cover scan. But from the front cover, that appears to be a 9.4 candidate. Are you looking at the one from ranxerox9254? That's not divad.
  20. The listing I see says: SANDMAN #4 Apr 1989 DC NM+ 9.6 W 1st App LUCIFER MORNINGSTAR Neil GAIMAN TV HOT!
  21. I have nothing against either you or David. But I would have to question your grading if you called this a 7.5-8.0 candidate. Are you assuming a 9.4 (NM) is not allowed any spine stress lines? Even the grading section of Overstreet states a 9.4 is allowed a couple (and just a couple) of spine stress lines. Or were you confusing the wild cover design as actual torn pieces, and those are the inner pages? So true. It's not a VF copy. It's higher. But it's not the 9.6 claimed in the listing. For proof of that, just look at the back cover.
