Fellow collectors I'm looking for feedback on a mobile app that took me almost two years to create. It has over 7,000 key issues (1st appearances, iconic covers etc.) with price guidance. You can catalog your comics and build a wish list. Its all free. No ads. I don't profit. I built a database for myself and a friend who had a huge collection in his warehouse but didn't know the valuable from the non-valuable comics. Burnaby Comic Swap Meetup on Sat. April 18, 2020 at the Safeway Community Room on the 3rd floor next to Burquitlam Skytrain Station at Clarke Road (essentially North Rd) at Como Lake Road on the Coquitlam side of the border. This Meetup is btwn 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. patterned after the Seattle Comics and Craft event which is targeted towards more serious comic book, mag and art collectors. A variety of vintage comic book dealers and some brand new vendors will be setting up for a nominal fee. As the vendor tables are small, each dealer is allowed to bring a maximum of 3 short boxes or about 2 longs of comics and paper collectibles to assure a nice mix. Please pmail me if you wish to reserve a small table, as space is limited. Load in/out via 2 freight elevators to the mezzanine level of Safeway. Collectors can park for free for 2 hours at Safeway covered ground level. Recommend that vendors park next door at Burquitlam Plaza strip mall (uncovered) for free up to 4 hours. Sorry, no Funko Pop. Guest speaker of honor will be @427Impaler , the chief conservator of Excelsior Conservation Inc. The Professor will share his vast wisdom about comic conservation vs. restoration. He is scheduled to speak and offer a before and after comic slide show btwn 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. including a Q & A period. Hungry? There is a Safeway Cafe and Starbuck's at ground level. Please do not bring any outside food or drink (e.g. McDonald's that is across the street), as it will not be allowed on the 3rd floor per Safeway's rules of use. Fantastic Worlds Comics and Terry's Comics are co-promoting a one day Comic Book and Comic Original Art show in Scottsdale, AZ on November American Legion Post 44. The address of the post is 7145 East 2nd St, Scottsdale, AZ 85251. Food and drinks will be available onsite at the Hall. The show will be open from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Admission will be $10.00. We will also have hourly raffles for prizes. Advance tickets can be purchased at www.scbcas.com Confirmed Dealers that will be setting up include: Terry's Comics. I love comic books. Ever since I was a kid, the lure of the hand-drawn art, as well as the adventure to the local comic store alone, was the highlight of a long school week. As I got older, the comics I loved became art and soon I was collecting graded comics to keep forever in perfect (or close to perfect) condition. The one problem I found was always displaying them. No matter what the product it always seemed flimsy or not “clean” looking enough. I wanted something that could support my habit and also provide a minimal way to showcase them without bulky and expensive covers and matte frames. So, I began 3D printing, designing, and modeling. After months of trial, I finally had what I wanted. Simple to install bracket that minimally holds the graded comic without sacrificing that perfect cover art. BEHOLD! The Mountiee! Mountiees are resin printed brackets that hold just the lip of the graded comic without hiding anything else from that beautiful case. The design also lets you slip your comic in and out at your leisure so your display can change as your mood does. Simply mount the bracket with the included screws and wall anchors and BOOM…its on the wall. We designed the bracket with collectors in mind meaning we used high-quality UV resin to make the bracket stable without worrying about weight or grip. They are light weight but can hold any graded comic from standard case to newsprint. Mountiees come in 3 colors: Dark Night (Black), Classic Gray, and Semi-Transparent. No interested in using screws?
