When I get a quiet moment today at work, I'll generate a revised list. BTW, I agree that Thor 150 has an amazing cover. It's on my new list for sure. Depends on what you like, but 89 is generally considered the standout of the early issues. 118 and 123 are good, but for great Thor covers, I prefer those after the title change to “Thor”. This is all assuming you’re not asking about the killer PCH covers from the very start of the run. Jasonmorris1000000
Who doesn’t love #104? I just got mine a few months ago and it wasn’t too expensive. The next one I want is the 1st appearance of Mr Hyde. I always liked the villain but I don’t think Kirby drew that issue. Bummer. Popular Post namisgr
Agree that 89 and 104 are classics. I also like the Thor versus Thor scene and gorgeous gradient green cover of JIM #95, and the first look at the Rainbow Bridge and Asgard in JIM #88: Edited October 18, 2020 by namisgr Math Teacher, Jasonmorris1000000, creaturefan95 and 3 others

01TheDude
Sometimes personal collecting experience influences taste. One of my favorites is based on being the oldest book I owned when I was just starting out. I coveted it as a big Thor fan and it really makes Odin look like badarse. This is my replacement copy above. My original was taped, and in really bad shape. But someone scooped it up on ebay who I guess appreciated it. in the spoiler tag.... But since you're trying to be selective, here are some of my favorites among the books you didn't mention. I've bolded a small handful to indicate the ones I think should be highest priority. 84 - 2nd Thor (obviously) and also scarce, which makes it a good one to have 93 - 1st Radioactive Man 97 - 1st Tales of Asgard 102 - 1st Balder, Hela, and Sif 104 - I have always loved this cover 109 - vs. Magneto Annual 1 - 1st Hercules and Zeus 124 - Awesome Hercules cover 127 - Awesome cover (if you look closely you will see this cover hanging on the wall of Mr. Glass' art gallery in Unbreakable) 137 - 1st Ulik 148 - 1st Wrecker 150 - Awesome Hela cover 153 - Awesome cover 154 - 1st Mangog (although the next 2-3 covers are much better) 160 - vs. Galactus 165 - 1st full Him / Adam Warlock 168 - Origin of Galactus 193 - Past the Kirby era, but it's Buscema and some consider it a poor man's companion to Silver Surfer #4 Bonus books if you're looking for all-time great Thor covers: Avengers #12 Daredevil #30 Silver Surfer #4 Hope that helps! 92 - 1st Frigga 107 - 1st Grey Gargoyle and Karnilla
piper
Ok, here's my 2nd attempt at a must have JIM/Thor list: 83 - 1st Thor 85 - 1st Loki 86 - 1st Odin and cool cover 89 - Classic Cover 93 - 1st Radioactive Man 97 - 1st Tales of Asgard (I have the Tales of Asgard one shot so will forego this) 102 - 1st Balder, Hela, and Sif 103 - 1st Enchantress and Executioner 104 - I have always loved this cover (This cover does nothing for me...) 107 - 1st Grey Gargoyle and Karnilla 109 - vs. Magneto 112 - Hulk vs Thor 114 - 1st Absorbing Man 118 - 1st Destroyer 121 - Cool Cover (plus I already own one) Annual 1 - 1st Hercules and Zeus 124 - Awesome Hercules cover 125 - Start of new title 126 - Cool Cover 127 - Awesome cover (if you look closely you will see this cover hanging on the wall of Mr. Glass' art gallery in Unbreakable) 133 - Ego 134 - 1st High Evolutionary 150 - Awesome Hela cover 153 - Awesome cover (I agree that's an awesome cover) 156 - Cool Cover 158 - Cool Cover 160 - vs. Galactus 165 - 1st full Him / Adam Warlock 168 - Origin of Galactus Bonus books: Avengers #12 Daredevil #30 Silver Surfer #4 Thanks for everyone's help!
