Anyone know when Ebay really started to be a factor in comic sales?

Comic sales doubled every month in 1997, and every two months in 1998. They were doubling every three months by late 1999...

 

I'd say they crossed real market penetration sometime in mid-to-late-1999 and became a dominant factor by late 2000....

 

Like all cool technology, it moved pretty quickly from "Only geeks have/use this" to "Where did all this come from?" to "It's hard to remember when this wasn't everywhere".

 

VCRs, CD Players, Laptops, DVD Players, Cell Phones, PDA's, GPS, they all followed the same path...

 

Of course, it's not that way with every product. Greggy is still waiting for Stage 2 of Wonder Woman Jointed Giant collecting...
