I too saw something similar. The guy was flipping thru the books, bending them near the top staple. He was looking thru the books like he was angry at them.

 

Here's my theory on bone-heads like this. They feel they can't afford high grade book, so they act sanctimonious and claim they only like the art form, and can't stand high grade collectors. Just to prove their point, they intentionally mangle books. Just joylous, unhappy people who think their way of collecting is the only way.
