The second book is my second copy of my favorite Spider cover of the run. Fangs out, Bondage, red dress damsel in distress, ladies of the meat hooks and a ticked off butcher?!... check, check, check, check, check and check!

Some readers I just picked up.  Pages are brown but not brittle, so I'm happy.  

 

and some slicks I found at a bookstore a few weeks ago.  They were cheap and the store had a dozen more, might go clear them out next time I'm in that town.  Atlas,  Dell, Fawcett.

Got to post in Spicy, too. Unreal mail call today. These actually came in much better condition than I had expected. These are solid books. I am over the moon with these 2 especially the Spicy Mystery, what a cover!!!

A recent pick up. The blood and the completely missing head make it feel even more brutal than your usual decap cover.

This arrive today. It's supposed to be on the scarcer side, though I don't know for sure. I love the villain pulps.

Beautiful copy!!! This book just does it for me. I can't put my finger on why, but it's just cool. The other 2 in the run are so so. This is actually the first appearance of THIS Doctor Death too. Congratulations!

I agree it's the best cover of the run, I also like the title logo that was only used on this issue. It's a bit cartoonish, which is possibly why they changed it, but it's distinct.

I think you're right. The cartoonish nature mixed with its sinister demeanor reminds me of Wrightson comic covers... One of the Greats.
