Ryan,

Yes the book is a high gloss silver!

Thank you very much for the compliment. :)

Hi dwight,

you are welcome!

Is that the issue, according to the Bookery Guide to Pulps, that has the first full body/face appearance of the Shadow?

Regardless, it is just a gem of a book!

Congratulations, Jeff.

Another great addition to your collection. :applause:

I had forgotten Paul Stahr had done that cover. hm

given the fact that I didn't even know Paul Stahr had ever done it, means I am way at the end of the line

Love the ERB pulps...what year are those from???... hm

BTW...did you guys see this pulp on eBay?... I put in a low bid and was a little suprised at the end price...although it is a cool Paul cover and is probably rather scarce...

One of Gernsback's early non-fiction(?) science mags with a Paul cover - very cool! (thumbs u

The ERB Argosy dates are:

"Pirates of Venus" - 1932

"Lost on Venus" - 1933

"Carson of Venus" 1938

Ryan,

Not sure if it is that one or the March 1932 - "The Black Master" which is considered the first. Both are great books and I have a nice copy of that one too!

Bring back memories Dwight?

I like Argosy but I wish ERB stories were always the cover feature.

But I like Planets too. Especially with a Henry Kuttner story.

And I like art by Virgil...Even without the GGA. Are those BZs?

And I can't resist a girl in leather. I think I will go back and read this one.
