What effect are two primary defects going to have?

 

You can see a micro tear on the right edge to the right of DD's foot. Also, there is a tiny chip off the right edge just below Subby's left hand. What say you? I'd appreciate some thoughts on this as well as votes. Thanks.

i'm thinking that the 3 visible spine nicks (there are others on the huge scan but you can't see them with the naked eye, so they don't count), and the tiny chip, small tear and bit of a corner loss on the LRC would still pullaround an 8.5 - 9.0.

 

the dirt/transfer stain on the BC would solidify the 8.5 grade.

 

a great copy of a notoriously difficult book in HG (which is what I consider 8.5 to be..............)........ (thumbs u
