lol...reminds me of that overdue book episode in Seinfeld!

 

Laugh it up, funny boy - but I take this seriously! Somewhere there are half a dozen kids whose lives have been irreversibly altered by the fact that one selfish patron left the library bereft of this important literary work! insane.gif

 

I've got a few books from libraries that I was happy to pay for 'cause I knew I'd never, ever see 'em again... My copy of On the Track of Unknown Animals (first edition, 1954, Bernard Heuvelmans, author) cost me about $80 in 'replacement fees', but I know for sure that the UC Berkeley stacks never replaced that tome, my $80 notwithstanding...
