Timely people - How were the stories in "Mystic" comics?

Can't help but notice the great covers, like

So were the stories any good??

This is Vol. 2, right?

 

I was always under the impression that Vol. 1 was better... especially the Black Widow stories.

It's been awhile since I read them but I don't remember them being anything earthshaking. I will agree that the "Black Widow" had some nice art! I don't collect golden age for the stories anyway. For me, it's the art and history. Mystic is my favorite Timely title because so many characters were introduced but nobody caught on - except The Destroyer (somewhat).
