Hand something to the kid. Anything. And see if he stops screaming. Freaks kids out when total strangers just hand them stuff and it will usually get them to be quit without you having to be rude and say something to the parents.

Nothing wrong with singing it's the crying and screaming that bothers me.

Tell the kid that Santa doesn't like singing/screaming, then ask him/her if he/she really wants to pissss off Santa at this time of year.

 

I don't have kids, but I'm pretty sure that's how you're supposed to talk to them.

Do you have notebook paper? Make the kid an airplane. The parents will appreciate it as well. and everyone on the train will thank you.
