Sqeggs
My take on the current state of Bakerdom: Highest-graded copies go from strength to strength. Same with keyist of keys (CL 25, GCE 12) even in lower grades. But offseting the high prices, from a collecting perspective, is the flood into the market of mid-grade and lower copies of most issues. Possible, I think, to quickly put together a pretty good chunk of the great man's St John run without breaking the bank. jimjum12

The DS 30 price seems low. I used to think of this a really tough book but a lot of mid to low grade copies have surfaced. Still nothing above 6.5, though, unless there's a raw sitting in someone's collection.

Are there many Canadian editions of St John books? I know there was a guy on eBay who was selling some for a while, but I don't often see them. Given how iffy St John's circulation was in the U.S, it's a little surprising he sold enough in Canada to justify the printing.

Before the book could even be shipped, the winner jacked up the price and put it on CLink for $8500. It was funny tracking that book on eBay. After failing to sell it at $5K or something, didn't he jack it up for awhile to $10K? Or maybe I'm thinking of another book.

I've owned a few Canadian St. John's, but I'm in Canada, although I usually get them through U.S. dealers like Harley. They are actually Superior Comics in Toronto that bought the rights to American material. St. John's did not publish up here. Popular Post Sqeggs
I was thinking the other day about @Dr. Love post from a few years back about how there may be a significant number of ungraded Church copies of Baker St John books. I think we found HA sales of raw copies of TAR 1 and 2, which, so far as I know, haven't been graded. But can't think of any graded copies coming to market recently. I have a couple. I think that's it for me unless I'm forgetting one. jimjum12, pmpknface, PeterPark and 3 others 5

Iirc the guy on eBay selling Canadian editions mainly had the early photo cover issues. I believe he was also located in Canada.

Sqeggs
Per Chuck's catalog, all three issues of Canteen Kate were in the collection and he graded them all NM+.

Sqeggs
Just shows that you should never doubt @Dr. Love! Looking through Chuck's catalog--which, of course, I should have done before beginning to post about this--shows that there were a lot of Bakers in the Church collection. Looks like Chuck graded about two-thirds NM or so and the rest in the VG/FN range. The latter books Edgar presumably bought used. So, there may well be ungraded raw high-grade Church books or some of the high-grade slabbed Bakers may be unrecognized Church books or maybe some of both. Even more likely that some of the mid-grade books were slabbed without having the ped noted. The WTR 7 I posted earlier was graded NM by Chuck. Of course, it may have knocked about a bit before it was graded. He graded the Hawk 11 as a FN.

I did eventually pick up a nice copy of the 5 (not the Church copy) but I think Baker struggles with profiles, and I don't much like that cover.
