Trimmed MH value?

It's clear that, to many, trimming is the kiss of death within the Purple Label of Death. Pretty morbid market-wise.

 

Deservedly so. Trimming is destructive.

It was slabbed as a 9.0 (purple label obviously) - now cracked out, and I can't really say how much was trimmed - although all 3 sides are flat. That's the thing that really gets me. I have no idea why someone would do that to a book.

 

It would be interesting to know the story of this book, particularly why and when it was trimmed. Like others have said, I would buy only if you intend to keep it till death do you part, or can get it for 20% of guide.
