Actually is what a board member, not sure if it was a joke (Paulie use to nail me with a few funny offers on my books from time to time) or if he was just fishing for a counter offer? I should have accepted it but with $3,500 for shipping. hm

Dizzy no offense taken but I think the notion that this is only a $1,000 book is pretty laughable. A centerfold less copy sold for $2,300 last month? If I had to pick one page that was missing in a comic I would take the back cover every time, doesn't effect the story or the cover. A centerfold is 4 story pages that are cut out. Have you seen what coverless books, plain covers or even single wraps have been fetching lately for GA keys and semi-keys?

I think the 'which missing page would you take' is debatable and different for every collector - I see a back cover less book as basically missing 1/2 the cover. dizzy might be looking at it the same way. I understand your pricing and all but I think this is one book that different collectors will view in different lights

I haven't been actively collecting in so long that I don't know what's fair. I just know that this is the type of book where two reasonable people could come to very different judgements on value.

You have researched past sales, I suspect dizzy did not and just asked himself what a restored book missing a bc was worth to him. I don't think he meant to insult you, and while your preference may be for the back cover to be missing, his preference might differ. I would personally much prefer a missing centerfold and complete covers if the centerfold wasn't key to the story, if part of a non-feature story like a non-supes story in action comics. If his preferences are similar to mine than the price he is willing to pay will be sub 2300, no? Someone else with preferences like yourself might be willing to pay much more than 2300.

Whatever the value, its a beautiful book and I wish I had a copy in any condition.

Lots of inquiries on this book as it starting to heat up, could be sold by the end of the weekend.

not surprised. as to price, i was just playing with the 'realized prices' on heritage, and saw that a front cover ONLY of 'tec 35 sold for 1,500 or so. this book's gotta be worth way, way more than that. good luck with it surfer.

Ryan Ebay is good or Comiclink because you can just set you price and if your patient you will eventually get top dollar for it. Potential buyers will keep coming back to it, mulling it over before eventually caving in, much like you did when you beat me to your copy on Comiclink a few years back. I look at that book for months, maybe a 100 times, bought others books until finally I thought "what I am doing" and then you beat me to the punch by mere hours. :tonofbricks:
